Hopefully everyone’s health will hold out so we can eventually reschedule the trips.</p> <p>Yesterday I felt like I escaped. I had a routine medical appointment in the city and, miracle of miracles, the air had cleared. We walked up steps with mosaics, and then walked a bit over to a view of the coast. My Dad is a super active and youthful 90 like you (Mom 82) and I think this also must weigh on him. Thank you for the insight.</p> <p>That said, <i>of course</i> you've found the silver lining because you have such an outstanding outlook on life!</p> <p>We visited my parents last weekend, joined by 1 of my siblings. In an attempt to minimize our risks, I got tested less than a week before we went, we all ate and stayed outside 95% of the weekend, and did not touch or hug. No one spent the night in our folks' house. It was a particularly nice visit, after a summer that included heart surgery and another procedure for Dad. He always sends nice texts about how good it was to be together. Being on my own was, perhaps, for me easier &nbsp;to bear than for others as, since last year I have been on my own anyway. I have spent the time reading, writing, chatting on video, and looking after my demanding cat!</p> <p>However because of my age I do resent the time wasted. I feel I cannot go on visits, travel on public transport, browse in shops, eat out often. &nbsp;As I was 90 in August I hope you will overlook the selfishness of these "losses". There are so many who are facing far worse problems in their lives.&nbsp;</p> <p>What I have found is that little pleasures have attained much greater delight in my life. My new profile image is a photograph my daughter took when we were finally allowed to meet up. She drove me to a nearby trout-filled river and for a brief time we soaked up the sunshine and the beautiful scenery all around. The swan was a bonus!</p> <p>These are surreal times. It seems almost too petty to worry over appearance and clothes. What really matters is being with family and friends; taking each day as it comes but making the most of it. <br />Greetings,my friends. Keep well. Keep safe. </p>
