I decided against it. In reality, it would have been yet another 'almost' at a good price. I've had my share of those. Yes, I think it would have been a nice looking dress on me, but it would not have adequately filled the "warm sweater dress with a little slouch I can throw a belt on and some boots and feel stylishly cozy in the snow" category hee hee. Yes, it's a pretty specific category ;)
For those who like it for themselves, there are several on eBay around $35 right now.

If these are elbow sleeves as opposed to "short" sleeves I think this has potential, though I would rather see a jacket layered over more than a tee layered under. I don't mind sweater dresses with elbow or longer sleeves, but actual short sleeves is just... I don't get it -_- I REALLY like the idea of a lined sweater dress!

I like this dress Mo, and actually wouldn't be affraid to layer it! Whta"s wrong with it, especially that these sleeves seems like elbow lengths(not really shorts), and if you like scrunching up the sleeves, the underlayer will come to elbow just under the sleeves hem. Great colour, and if it's lined...a bonus!

Well, sometimes you need to be open to something you are not exactly looking for. I could really see this color and style on you. Do you have to order it to try it on? Does it break any rules you've made for yourself? I have a "no 3/4 sleeves unless it's a jacket" rule, for example.

For a visual, the underlayer is this (sleeves are pushed up in this photo). It's a boatneck, stretchy black tee. If it can fit under this tight Guess sweaterdress tunic, it can fit under anything lol!
Still not sure if I should hold out or if 1/2 sleeves might be a fun change . . .

I don't like the picture that the underlayer is creating in my head... between the half sleeves and the cowl, I feel like another layer would ruin the effect. I'm with Una voting to hold out for something closer to what you wanted.

It looks like a very interesting cut and I love the colour. If you got it, could you earmark it more for spring or fall wear? That way the shorter sleeves wouldn't be a drawback. I think it's worth a try.

Ah, sleeves. It's very pretty and the lining is a huge plus. But the sleeves! Short sleeved cowlneck sweater dress? I'd hold out for something long-sleeved.

It is a lovely dress. However, unless you can see yourself wearing it without the layer underneath (and not freeze), I would hold out for a long-sleeved one. I have a beautiful short-sleeved one that hangs in my closet because it is totally impractical for midwest winters.

I think this will be lovely on you. I am always puzzled as to why winter dresses don't have longer sleeves. I guess designers expect people to layer them.

Love the color - and lining is a major plus. My shopping criteria these days is to walk away unless I can't live without it. Sounds like you are on the fence - if you are looking for a little nudge to stay patient, here it is.

I say go for it. A sweater dress fully lined? That is a plus... you don't have to worry about the fabric getting caught on tights. Yes, it would be really cute with boots. Too bad you can't buy 2 and make the sleeves long.

Kim you would think long sleeves would make sense, wouldn't you?? sheesh.
Here's the hemline - kind of a handkerchief effect. Could be cute with tall boots :)

What do we think of this as a possibility? I was looking for long sleeves, but could layer a black long top under. I wanted a sweater dress I could belt for different looks and that wasn't form fitting all the way down. I already have a pink striped one with that fit. This is more of a thin knit than a true sweater dress, but it is fully lined.
Should I try it or hold out for a long sleeved one like I originally envisioned?
