I think the only way I will ever not have to belt is if i went back to high waisted styles, which ain't happenin! Even yoga pants migrate on me...so frustrating!

Oh, I'm intrigued too. I have he combination of wide hips, relatively smallish waist and negligible booty that leads to nearly every pair of jeans I own sliding down in the back waistband (where they then bunch up in an unattractive lump above my behind). I'm always having to size up to accommodate hips and thighs, and sometimes altering the waist will only do so much. I have an invisibelt, but it's not ideal. This looks like a great alternative.

Brilliant idea. I think jeans downslide was one of the first questions I posed to this forum when I joined five or so years ago. I still haven't solved the problem, other than to wear a belt. I know Angie insists that if your pants slide down, they are the wrong size, but I will argue to my grave about that. I have never owned a pair of pants in my life that don't work their way down!

Oooh! Thanks for the tip. I, too, have issues with pants slipping down because I lack the hips. I have minimal curves and am shaped like a boy!

Thanks for the tip. There's something like that on the market locally as well, but i'm not sure it has the great buckles that these have. Must find out...

FindingMyWay: the belt is some kind of elasticized material, but it has just the right amount of stretch that it does not bind or cut you in half. And it is really adjustable, so that you can make sure you are cinching it only as much as you want to.
I have a pair of Paige skinny cargoes that I love, but that are at least two sizes two big in the waist. Strange, because I am on the smaller side, but they fit everywhere else -- and they are pretty skinny in the legs. Anyway, I lost a few pounds this summer, which I knew would exacerbate the problem, so I was sure they would have to go this year. I put them on yesterday with this belt and I did not have to adjust them once during the day. Seriously, this belt is magic.

What is the belt strap made of? I own a Beltaway that is made of elastic. While it is fully adjustable, sometimes I struggle to find the right balance of "holding my pants up" and "not cutting me in half." When I find the right tightness, it keeps my pants from slipping and pretty much disappears beneath my shirt.

Thanks for the tip! I think I'll check these out. Currently when I need a low-profile belt I use a men's canvas webbing belt with a flat plaque buckle that I stole from my husband, but it's not very attractive!

Thank you for sharing! That is awesome and this fellow rectangle/inverted triangle is off to check it out too. I have an old, self-fabric canvas belt that came on a long-discarded pair of pants that I've kept for years and wear all the time expressly for that purpose. To say I have to make sure it doesn't show is an understatement, so this is a fabulous alternative!

I love Hipsi! I have the black, brown and champagne colors!

I have always had a problem with belts buckles rubbing holes in finer gauge knits and tee shirts. Because the Hipsi belt buckle lays flat, it fixed that problem. Also love the bra strap method of adjusting the size of the belt so it can be worn with different rise pants.

Hipsi recently became available on Amazon and has free shipping:

Here's my first post-Seattle shopping tip. While there this weekend, my friend introduced me to the Hipsi, which was created by two local women. It's an adjustable belt that is nice looking and extremely effective at keeping your pants in place. As a rectangle, I have a huge problem with pants stretching out even after only one day and slipping down because I lack the hips to keep them in place. Sometimes I want to wear a top or sweater loose and outside my pants but without the bulk of a buckle (e.g., an oversized sweater over skinnies). The hipsi belt lies completely flat, which is AMAZING, and which makes this look possible. I bought a black one with a snakeskin buckle so even if I semituck, the buckle is cute enough to show. Not cheap -- and I even paid a little more than the $50 being asked at the Website -- but I have already worn it every day since purchasing.

http://www.hipsiworld.com/index.html
