Thanks for linking to this article, AT! I will read anything on necklines I can get.

Personally, I found a lot of the advice contradictory and the article didn't take into account the many body-type modifiers we all have. Also, there are so many different kinds of cowls, halters and boat necks that need to be taken into consideration. So much to learn! It would be a shame to discount a neckline category when a variation of it might actually turn out to be flattering. I guess that's why we need to do so much trying on.

I don't agree with the advice on cowl/drape necklines. I have a strong shoulder line and a biggish bust and this style is very flattering on me and other women I've seen with the same issue. Maybe it works because I am tall along with my other proportions?

Like anything, there are probably several variables and the article tried to keep it simple with the guidelines. I hadn't taken face shape into consideration and that was new to me.

hmmm, I got tripped up at crew necks being good for "heavier set women with short necks" What? I'm not heavy set but I've got boobage and a short neck and can't think of a less flattering neckline for myself,..... other than a turtleneck.
