So, since your skirt and boots are different colors, the tights should match one or the other. </p> <p>Now, I think most rules should be taken with a grain of salt because I have seen way too many fabulous outfits that break "rules", but you need to understand the reason for the rule in order to break it and still look good. I think the intention is to maintain proportional color-blocking.
