I think my vintage-loving kid, who has someone else’s great-grandmother’s Afghan blanket on her bed (as retrieved from my friend’s garage - it’s too hippy for her more classic boomer in-laws), would find these try-hard and corporate. She would only thrift more authentic pieces. I personally have always loved the motif, but crochet wasn’t something my otherwise clothes-crafty grandmother or mother ever did.
