My feet couldn't handle them for everyday shoes anymore, but they're perfect for house shoes. Style Fan - Brick and mortar gets me too. There's been an unexpected benefit to not having help at my craft shows recently. Not only are there fantastic vendors  there, they're often held in busy shopping areas, so being stuck in my booth is much better for my wallet.  :) kerlyn - I have that problem with sparkly holiday things. I don't really lead a velvet and sequins life, but everyday luxuries are tempting too. Beth Ann - I love "luxurious, but practical." That's my goal for life, I think. shedev - You seem to get your five pieces in earlier each season than I do. I'd like to work on that, for getting more wear in the season I buy things. I have bought the belted cardigans from Garnet Hill before, I found them gorgeous for the first wear, but experienced intolerable pilling. I think mine was a cashmere wool blend though. Yesterday I bought a sweater I've been eyeing for several months, even though it is almost a duplicate. But I'm wearing sweaters as tops much more this winter, so it will get a lot of wear. And two pairs of cute socks. I might wear my striped pair with my striped vans. They are online/catalog, and carry some pretty nice quality pieces. I haven't always had the best luck with sizing (feels like I'm in between sizes, and I think many of the items work for someone who's a little shorter than I am), but my favorite all time skirt is from there. I also have a summer dress I like from them. If I lived somewhere colder, I'd consider their cashmere too. Oh yeah, and I have sheets from them too. More than in any other season, I have a hard time keeping myself from buying pretty things. And to be honest, I'm not trying super-hard. I ordered a few new things that will go in the basics/essentials category of my wardrobe, and a couple that fall into the statements category, either because of price or...er...statementiness. I'm doing the 5-piece wardrobe, so I only get 5 statements per season. Basics/Essentials: Chaturanga leggings - In black. I got the non high-rise version, but I couldn't get the find to work. My favorite leggings, because they're thick without being shiny, come in tall sizes, and have a hidden pocket in the waistband that holds my fitness tracker. Long-sleeve faux wrap top - In ivory. I'm furthering my efforts to add some lighter colored basics to my closet. Mary Jane slippers - I wear these around the house all the time, and also grabbed a pair to keep in my bag for no-shoes houses. One in cotton, one in velvet. Statements: Cashmere belted sweater - Not sure yet if this will work (it hasn't arrived yet) but I was feeling a need for coziness. This is an example of one of my basics, upgraded to the five based on price. Floral tunic - My new favorite top. I've seriously worn it three times already. I think it might be polyester (label is unclear), which violates my purchasing rule, but it's so flowy, I haven't had any of my usual skin vs. synthetics issues. Anyone else get grabby hands at a certain time of year? Thoughts on how my purchases might work out?
