Oh wow I just googled NSFW thinking it was some txtspeak thing. Feel like such a dinosaur. There appears to be a consensus on Hourglass with some IT tendancies, so I've deleted the image. Thanks for the headsup elpgal

You are lovely and I see no signs of a buddha belly.

One small request: Can you put a NSFW warning for this post, I read YLF at work and I imagine several others do too.

I should take a picture of myself in my undies so you know what a real buddha belly looks like.

But I won't.

You are a lovely hourglass who, as Bella said, should get a bra fitting! This bra is not fitting your gorgeous shape correctly.

Hi Kate!
It will take a bit of getting used to, since I still look at myself and think awkward Inverted Triangle growing buddha belly. Maybe my eye isn't calibrated right. Previously I've looked at Pears and thought they were Hourglasses. It's exciting though, to have your years of preconceived ideas banished in a few responses!

But it makes sense now why the tips for IT didn't always work out (I have puffy empire-line dresses gathering dust), but waist and hip hugging clothes looked alright. The biggest problem I will have is the waist-defining stuff - but it'll grow on me I'm sure. As for belts, that's going to be a lovely challenge.

Thanks for the sweet feedback everyone.

I also think you are an hourglass with IT tendencies, which is what I am too. I follow the hourglass guidelines, but make a point of not adding bulk to my shoulders.

How do you feel about dressing as an hourglass?

Beautiful figure .I think your primary body shape is hour glass. You have a tiny waist with well proportioned bust and hips. Shoulders are only slightly wider than hips so secondary shape Inverted triangle. I'm not expert but that is my impression.

my first thought was hourglass too... then I read your own assessment and yes, I do see some very slight IT tendancies. I think I would follow the hourglass guidelines for the most part. You have a gorgeous figure.

I agree, maybe hourglass, some inverted triangle. You have a nice shape and should be proud of your shoulders, they create a great line for clothes! I have somewhat strong shoulders too and I find that some volume on the bottom makes me feel more balanced. Even though I wear skinny jeans, especially with boots, I still prefer the look of straight, wide or bootcut pants, probably because of my shoulders.

Welcome! I am not good at determining body types so I will leave it to expert. I wanted to suggest that you start with a bra fitting. Our resident expert Maya recently started an excellent thread on the topic which should get you started:
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ing-thread
Good luck on your style journey!

Wow i wasn't expecting such quick responses! Thanks!
I think i've been hung up about my shoulders because I used to have really bad posture until my physio told me the way i held my head was not normal. The hunching made the shoulder fixation worse.

Definitely hourglass. You're quite similar to me actually. You have a nice slim waist and I don't see anything man-ish about your shoulders at all! Welcome aboard

Hello all! I've become a big fan of youlookfab.com in the last month and have read through posts about various body shapes but am confused about my own. I think I'm an inverted triangle but not all the IT styles look good on me. Have always felt really self conscious about my big man-shoulders but now that I've learnt more about fashion and style I've come to appreciate my body and also realise the women around me look fabulous in their own different ways! So good.

http://i862.photobucket.com/al.....figure.jpg
