I am pretty sensitive to the feeling of "too much going on" when taking into account my neckline, jewelry, hardware and eyeglasses. This is why I like having a couple of different pairs of specs, one of which stands out a bit more and one of which is quieter. I also really like having bags with no shiny hardware for times when I want to let my jewelry do the talking. I've also fallen in love with pieces only to try them on and feel like they are too busy. I don't wear specs any more as a regular thing...but I do wear (at least small stud) earrings every day, and I pretty much always wear a belt...and with my short waist, earrings, necklace and belt almost always feel like too much on me.
