My DH also had a cardiac arrest at age 48 and was not the only one in ICU that age that had had a cardiac arrest. The doctors said that they are seeing this at younger ages. With Gods mercy, DH survived, but it was a long trip back and still is. This week he sees his cardiologist after a month of wearing a heart monitor. It does not sound like good news.<br /> Your friend may suffer panic attacks later. I did. When your friend is on a more even keel, you might give her a copy of Sheryl Sandberg's new book on how she found her new "normal" after her 48yo spouse died of a heart attack while on vacation. I think it's called Plan B or something like that. (She wrote Lean In). I've heard her interviewed several times in the last few days and the book sounds very helpful and compassionate. He never regained consciousness, and he died this morning. He was 48.&nbsp;</p> <p>I'm not sure why I'm posting. I realize things like this happen all the time, but it hits a lot closer to home when DH and I are about the same age. She has a 10 year old son with Down's and a daughter in high school.&nbsp;</p> <p>Anyway, if anyone can spare a thought before bed to wish her strength to get through this, I'd appreciate it.&nbsp; </p>
