I quite like them, actually! I also like the idea of a pointy toe - a win win, don't you agree?

You are right, or course. They are not a good substitute. I need to put the Pradas out of mind and look for something else to pair with my dresses and skirts. Something with a pointy toe!

Ok, just snooping on the Nordies site. The Jimmy Choo Moore pump is similar but without the crystal detail. It's a *bit* cheaper.

I think it is worth ordering them and trying them in your wardrobe.

I'd say that the SEs are a possible, but the toe area is very plain. You could order them just to see how they fit. But I do think you should order the Pradas as well, provided you get free shipping and returns. You have fallen hard for them and it wouldn't hurt to try them on. Who knows, they might be an awful fit for you. I remember coveting some Ferragamos a few years ago, but when i finally worked up the nerve to try them, they didn't fit at all. I was so relieved

Agree--keep looking, but don't despair.
The ties may not be as bad as bows, but I have 2 pairs of flats with bows (not very obtrusive, even) and I find I don't wear them because whenever I put them on I think twee, girlie. So I've resolved, no bows or dangles. That's just me and YMMV.

I'm a bit weird about trying to find imitations of items that I've fallen for but decided were too expensive, so take my opinion with a big grain of salt.

The Pradas are beautiful, but the SE, to my eye, is a rather ordinary black shoe ramped up a bit with a contrasting heel. The details in the Prada shoe make the original design cohesive, but the lack of those details in the SE makes the contrasting heel seem a bit out of place.

Good design can be found at all price points, so, if Prada is beyond my budget, I'd rather look for a different shoe at a lower price point that gave me the same thrill as the Pradas.
Tough question Thistle. Love the gold heels on both - but I wasn't enamoured with the flat gold buckle on the Prada -nor am I fan of the black ties on the SEs.
But that's my esthetic (which is still developing!), and I am significantly older than you. What are you planning to wear them with?

Yeah, I know, "substitute for Pradas" there is none. *sigh* Note to self, be careful doing a general search at Nordies!!

But, are these close do you think? Or am I reaching here?

http://www.zappos.com/sam-edelman-natalie-black

http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/pr.....n=wishlist
