				<description>&#060;p&#062;Bumping this.  When in doubt, ask a question around here.  Somebody always knows the answer.  I really liked Diana's response in that acrylic thread, as she is so knowledgeable about yarns.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;In general, natural fibres breathe better, but synthetics often wear better and retain colour better.  That is just in general, mind you.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I'm finding as I dive into the clothing world with the zeal of a new convert, it is becoming quite obvious to me that I'm lacking in some pretty basic area of knowledge, particularly about fabric type and content ( ie, I didn't even know what acrylic was as posted in a different thread-!).  Honestly, I wear cotton and ..cotton, that's about it!&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Wikipedia is somewhat helpful, but pretty scattered. I 'm wondering whether anyone might be able to suggest something a little more comprehensive, AKA &#034;Fabric for Dummies&#034;.  It would be nice to know the pros and cons of certain types of fabrics.  I've found a few, but they seem a bit strident (&#034;All synthetics are EVIL!&#034;) &#060;/p&#062;
