I was so astounded that I probably should have checked a bit more carefully before assuming it applied to other international orders.</p> <p>Charging shipping costs on a smaller order isn't unusual, but still it would be nice if they could keep them reasonable--many US companies seem to be able to cover shipping with a fee of $10 or less. But, as long as I'm not paying those horrendous brokerage fees, I'm much happier.</p> <p>Do you think Nordstrom's finally realized how unhappy those fees were making their international customers? As VC says, though, it's a smart move for them to encourage us to start buying from them prior to opening their Canadian B&amp;M stores. </p> <p>Anyway, it still is much nicer just to see an extra $35 tacked on to my order, not $135. Now only if our dollar would get back to parity. </p> <p>ETA: Maybe the free shipping just applies to Canadian orders, not overseas?
