I use Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Cleanser and love it for my sensitive skin, but my makeup isn't a longwearing formula type. I have also heard great things about jojoba or olive oil for cleansing, and the Oil Cleansing Method, as well as the Clarisonic.

Makeupalley.com is great for looking up relevant reviews and board discussions, if you can discern between the thoughtful reviewers and those who are less so.

I use a creamy cleanser like others here have said. I find it doesn't much matter which one, but following up with a toner to restore the skin's pH and using a serum before moisturizing has really helped me with the issue you describe. Cleanser and moisturizer alone gives me flaky skin, then I would try to use more moisturizer to make up for the dryness and wind up with clogged pores.

ETA: This gets my makeup off, but if I am wearing eyeliner I find it may be necessary to use eye makeup remover too.

When I run out of the toner product I have also used jojoba oil to remove my makeup (or just to oil up my skin at night in the winter when it super dry). The only problem is it isn't good for removing eye makeup - the oil sticks in my eyelashes and makes a film on my eyes!

Hey, I use Cetaphil, too! I use the cleanser for normal skin (the one for dry skin doesn't clean well, IMO). Then, I use my Clarisonic (yes, the Mia) AFTER I rinse (I don't like the cleanser sitting on my face because it drys my skin). I find it's good for exfoliation, more so than makeup removal. My products are more effective when my skin is well exfoliated.

Then, after all that, I use this toner/cleanser that you leave on. It's applied with a cotton pad and gets my remaining eye makeup and foundation, etc. off:

http://www.drugstore.com/produ.....=490169216

Since I've switched to jane iredale makeup I don't have as much problem getting my foundation off though. I used to use a waterproof Dior formula that was a pain to get off, although it really wore well.

I also have pretty dry skin. I love the cetaphil facial moisterizer for dry skin, too.

I recently had to switch from a sudsy cleanser to something creamy. It is not as emolliant as Ponds, but if Ponds or EVOO is too heavy for you try St. Ives Fresh Skin make-up remover and facial cleanser. You remove it with a damp washcloth and it does a great job of taking off mascara. It's super inexpensive, too.

I use Boscia eye cream, vitamin C Serum, and the daily moisturizer. My favorite so far! Smoothing and moisturizing without being greasy. It feels like it soaks in and doesn't just sit on the surface.

The face cleanser i use is Cerave (if anyone has eczema prone skin/dry skin like i do i SWEAR by this stuff. It's a life saver). It claims to remove makeup but it's pretty gentle i usually remove makeup either with olive oil or jojoba oil.

I second Di. In the Winter, everything seems to make my skin drier. So I started using Pond's Cold Cream. I LOVE it. I even use my Clarisonic with it sometimes or I use Neutrogena Neutrals . There is a new, creamy one that takes off make-up as well ( it is a take on Philoshophy's Hope is Not Enough ), but I do prefer the Ponds on cold days.

Now, don't think that I am crazy, but years ago I saw an interview with Cindy Crawford and she said that with dry skin, it is imperative to "layer" moisturizer. So when my skin is really dry, I use Oil of Olay light moisturizing cream first, then I use Pond's night cream. I used to use Clinque's yellow face lotion ( I forgot the name ), but for me Oil of Olay works just as well as the "underlayer".

( I know several people who swear by oil in the Winter )

Oh, Clinique's is Dramatically Different....and it is !

Good Luck !

If I wear makeup, it's Pond's cold cream to take that off, and then Cetaphil and my Clarisonic brush. (I bought the brush in the beginning of December, and I have to say that, while it's not a miracle product, it's made a big, big difference for me. I still break out, but my skin heals WAY faster now.)

I don't wear heavy make-up, tinted moisturizer, blush and tube mascara normally. If I'm wearing more eye make-up I still use a separate eye make-up remover. If I'm lazy or tired the Cetaphil alone isn't the greatest at removing everything. But the Dermalogica plus the Clairsonic gets everything off. I've had my Clairsonic for almost three years now, worth the investment.

I love Peter Thomas Roth's Anti Aging cleanser.
http://sephora.com/browse/prod.....oryId=3728
I bought this bottle over a year ago, and still have about 1/8 of it left. You only need a tiny bit and it gets makeup off SO WELL. I only use it at night to wash off my makeup, and follow with a great moisturizer.
In the morning, I just splash water on my face and move on to my eye cream/moisturizing routine.
If you go to Sephora, you should be able to ask for a sample to take home and try.

Thanks Sona. Does it also remove makeup? Or is something else required?
