Boots are tough. I just got a pair of OTK, and they aren't hard to get on, but they are a *little* hard to get off. I put on such a show trying on OTK's at nordstoms I was cracking up everyone around me. My SA and I were laughing so hard, I couldn't get the darn things off, there was no way I was going to wear them. And then the Blondos just fit, and slip on/off pretty easily, no harder than tall boots. Days when you know you won't be taking things on and off a lot, for one.... </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/going-for-the-blondos#post-1706470 Mon, 01 Aug 2016 17:41:38 +0000 Greenjeans 1706470@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>They arrived and are lovely. &nbsp;Alas, I'm sending back because as lovely as they are, it's a struggle to get them on.&nbsp;</p> <p><u>What's lovely about them:</u><br />• &nbsp;Velvety soft suede that is somehow also water resistant.<br />• &nbsp;Grippy soles.<br />• &nbsp;Not thigh-high, the tops came up just over my knee.<br />• &nbsp;I love the look of them (a look you do spectacularly, Brooklyn). &nbsp;Because these boots are trim, neither bulky nor too high, I think they work with knee length dresses and skirts. &nbsp;I pictured wearing mine with a roomy, midi-dress with slit and think that'd look fab, too.<br />• &nbsp;Elastic gore in back adjusts to calf size. &nbsp;<br />• &nbsp;The fit is roomy enough in the foot to accommodate a wool sock, so no need to size up.</p> <p><u>What didn't work:</u><br />• &nbsp;Too dang hard to put on. &nbsp;While I was eventually able to get them on OK over hose (and the plastic bag trick helped, too) they still presented too much tugging for me cope with in an everyday boot. &nbsp;(Visualized self having to leave barefoot in snow from an unexpected shoes-off location because I could net get boots back on. I saw your comment on Viva's post about wearing with dresses. I bought my first pair of OTKs last year. At the time I had some anxiety about how useful/age appropriate they would be. But I wore them a lot last year and have been wearing them even more this year (it's winter where I am). I think I have got used to them and got over any concerns about age appropriateness They are flat and so comfortable. I don't think you need to wear them with a short skirt. I wear mine with knee length and midi length skirts and don't always have a "gap" or thigh showing.
