Chrsitie, don't worry, many women (even those who wear heels) would love to wear flats if they could, so believe me, you will be envied for pulling off flats I recently did the same step as you and i found it most helpful to look in more expensive shops during sales or even in outlets and i found amazing flat shoes for good prices!
During winter you should try wearing long boots (suede, leather) with skirts http://www.stevemadden.com/item.aspx?id=48031
http://www.stevemadden.com/item.aspx?id=47696

During spring short boots look very stylish and cute (also experiment with different material)
http://www.endless.com/dp/B001.....B001BC7J2S

If you like tucking jeans into boots, then you cant try "heavier" looking long boots

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/29.....7&P=2

And during the summer ballet flats look great!

I'm sure that if you start looking, you'll find amazing shoes at your budget!

LOL Nicole! When I saw the title I thought it would be about hair. :)

One of the most attractive things about YLF for me was Angie's belief that it's possible to be stylish without wearing heels. I like the look of the heels but I hate wearing them and they don't fit my lifestyle, so it really resonated with me. I can't quite articulate which flats work and which don't, I am sure Angie can explain it when she gets back. For example, I think the famous Me Too Swanns work well, but I can't quite explain what it is about their style that makes them work.

Hi Christie! I read you Title and though...uh oh....I don't recall Christie needing breast reduction, maybe she's having bicycle problems. hehe

Have you tried low wedge heels? 2" or less? That might be what the doctor ordered!

Glad you popped back in for a visit!

Hi Christie, if your feet are in pain then I don't think there is anything wrong with wearing flats or lower heeled shoes that are more comfortable.

I think you could definitely pull of flats with skirts or dresses. Like Taylor mentioned, there are so many different styles out there I'm sure you can find some pairs to work with your wardrobe.

I am actually partial to heels, but only because they don't hurt me.
However my 23 yr. old daughter can't wear heels...they kill her feet. I must say she always looks adorable and stylish in her flats.

They are so popular now you can find them in very dressy to casual and you should be able to wear them with almost any out fit.

It may take some time to find just the rght flats but take your time and get the ones you LOVE and that will work for you.

Save you heels and your feet for special occasions.

Hi Christie! I was just wondering the other day what happened to you! (I figured you just got busy).

Congrats on your new job! I hope you are enjoying it there.

For myself, I personally like a slight heel better with dresses and skirts. But I'm kind of short (5'3"), and I have short legs. I find on me that full and A-line skirts look better with flats than pencil skirts do (flats and pencil skirts make me feel a bit frumpy). But when I asked Angie about it, she said that flats look great with skirts and dresses, even pencil skirts. She said it's a retro 50s look.

I'm not sure if that helps you at all. I guess my short answer is yes, you can do it. It might depend on the dress or skirt and your body type and height a little bit. Personal aesthetic probably plays a role, too.

Hey ladies... It's been so long since I've been on here. My new job has kept me busy (I actually shouldn't be on here now, but, oh well. Priorities).

My feet are killing me. In addition to dancing a few evenings a week, I wear heels constantly. I'm not sure I can take it much longer. My feet just plain ache. Now I'm starting to consider just making a statement by only wearing flats. Is this a bold or foolish style move? Can I pull off flats with my dresses (or flat boots in the winter?).

Thoughts?
