I like the shape of #1 and #2 Deborah but they look too wide on the bridge and across your face. If they were a little finer, like #5, they would suit your facial features more. Too wide and 'heavy' dominates the face, rather than compliments and doesn't look quite right on a smaller face. It can be quite a process getting the right specs, but it sounds like you have found some with the a more suitable width, so hopefully they will be perfect for you.

Deborah, I haven't seen your previous post/s, but, of these pictures, I like 3 and 4 best. 1 and 2, are very dramatic, but I agree they do look too big. It sounds as if the ones you have on order might fit the bill.

Thanks for all the input.

Cheryle, you are spot on re size. We ascertained today that 49mm was the perfect fit.

I have found a fab pair of black cat eyes on line tonight in my size. I am going to see if the store I have been dealing with can source them for me. Feeling like I might be on the home stretch! Will show you as soon as I am able.

I love the shape of #1 for you but they do look quite a bit too big for your face. I have the same issue with a small face. I can often fit into large children's frames. I usually limit my search to lenses that are less than 50mm wide.

The last pair was my favorite on you but if they aren't floating your boat, keep looking. Perhaps an interesting color, pattern or texture on the frame will add the drama you crave.

I still like 5 best, but I can see what you like about 1, I think. They do seem more exciting, between the shape --more uplifted corners--and the depth of color with the tortoise pattern. I do think they aren't as good a fit, not because of the width (I think you can carry off an oversized look) but because they look wide at the bridge (across your nose). The middle pair seem to contrast too much with your eyebrow shape, to me.

On second thought, I don't know of that's what it is about the middle frames--that shape might indeed suit you--but for whatever reason, they're my third choice among these.

I really like the cat's eye pair on you (#1), but they do look a little big. I know it's hard to get the eyes centered when you have a small face, but these glasses also look wide in the nose bridge area. Do they slide down when you look down? Do they come in a smaller size? The store should have a catalog listing the different colors and sizes.

I think all of these are good shapes for you. #1 has more drama, #5 fits your face better. And I don't know if it's just me or the type of glasses I need (for nearsightedness) but I always find that when the actual lenses get put in, my glasses look bigger than they did before. In my case I think it's the curvature of the lens that makes it look this way.

Have to say I think you can do better. The first pair (pics 1 and 2) look way to big to my eye - and the others are just ho-hum. I've recently gone through this nonsense myself, and like you , I have a small face and fine features. The young hipsters in the eyeglass shop claimed to like me in heavier dark frames, but I ended up with partially rimmed ones - with blue inside the black outer frame - still in this cat eye shape, but far less severe looking. My friends - male and female - my age, all liked them better than the heavier ones. Now I'm probably a million years older than you, but I still think your prettiness is being obscured by these frames.

You may like the others better but the pair in five really do appear to fit better.
I don't think you can fake the fit of glasses and a bad fit can be as much of a distraction as the wrong color, etc.
You really do have a pretty face, and the shape of your eye and brow is too pretty to overpower with oversized frames.
Maybe you should keep looking, because on the other hand, I can't recommend buying something you don't like even if it fits!

I like #5. I know how hard it is, I just went through it. I wanted to get cat eye frames, too, but could never find any. #5 fits your nose very well. I do like 1 better than the 2nd choice. And, they are fun, definitely! Can you buy the frames and take then home with you to play around with? I wound up bring a bunch of frames home with me to try, but I bought them at Costco and they let you do that. They got to know me really well. ;-) I did look at a bunch of other places and some of them would let you do that, too.

Deborah - I actually really like #1. They are very oversized, but you know I love oversized, and if you are going to make a statement, well, make it. Very dramatic. I have to say I love them. You know I liked #2 but compared to number one they were oversized but without the umph if that makes sense. A quieter statement. I'm not feeling number 3. I think it's the end of the cat eye comes down slightly the other two frames really come up. It kind of visually brings the eye down and I don't find it as uplifting or flattering as 1&2. I was interested in seeing you in a round frame, like AM posted (thanks AM!!), but I really love you in the cat eye. Anyway for what it's worth, I really love #1 - gorgeous!

The first two pairs are still much too wide in the lens-it's a matter of good fit for getting good visual quality when the lenses are made. The last pair looks great. They look very modern to me but the first two do have a more dramatic shape (regardless of being too big), so if that's what thrills you I would say keep looking at more cat-eye frames, but get the measurenents of the third pair as a comparison so that you can also get a good fit.

Ladies, I am finding this all quite challenging!

I am popping in a new pair along with the previous two I have shown you for comparison.

#1/2 you haven't seen these before. I wrote them off thinking they were too big but the more I look at them I really like them:). Oversized seems to be a bit of a trend with glasses but are these too oversized or could they work? BTW, these read black but are in fact a very dark tortoiseshell!

#3/4 these are the first pair I showed you. Different pics tho.

#5 These are from my most recent post. I know they fit well but I am just not feeling excited by them:)

I am sorry to load you up with this but seriously need your wise counsel.

xxx Deborah
