I prefer the second pair because I prefer a thinner frame. I think you have gorgeous eyes which are well framed by your beautiful brows, so a thinner frame will keep the specs from detracting from that.

Angie, I think your strategy of keeping multiple pairs of glasses is great, but it's only recently that I was able to do this. My former vision insurance only covered a new pair of frames & lenses every two years, and my vision used to deteriorate even faster than that. Last year when it came time for new frames & lenses to be covered, I was lucky enough that I could still see well enough to legally drive in the old lenses (with the red frames) so I was able to get a second/new pair of frames that I could interchange.

If I could afford to make my glasses wardrobe as big as my shoe wardrobe, I totally would - I've gone from thinking of them to an inconvenience to regarding them as a fun accessory.

Haven't read all the other comments. I didn't like 5. 7 or 8, thought they were too wide. I am a bit of a sucker for Dark red (for myself as well) and thought that colour look really good.

Gosh it is hard isn't it - am still in the middle of my search!

Fab start Christine and thanks for taking pics. I noticed that you are blessed with super thick eyebrows. Do you shape and wax them regularly? You also have pretty eyes.

Kari, I have multiple pairs of specs which I interchange daily. You don’t need to stick to one pair for years on end. I treat specs as my most important accessory, along with my watch.

Without looking at anyone else’s comments, I hands down like you best in the very first red pair. I also like #6. How does that compare to everyone else?

Glasses shopping is hard for me for the very reasons you mentioned - you usually only get one pair that has to last you years - but it looks like you've already identified a style of frames that works for your aesthetic and your face shape. So many great choices here!

I like how some of the frames (such as the 1st and 2nd pairs) are thick enough to make a statement without overwhelming your face or hiding your eyes. The last pair looks good on you too, but I think the shape of the 1st and 2nd pairs are a little more interesting.

The 3rd, 5th and 7th pairs seem a little heavy to me because the entire frame is pretty thick on these glasses. The 5th and 6th frames look like they might be a little too widely spaced for your eyes (but it might be the camera angle causing this perception.)

I agree with your husband that the red frames are a lovely color for you!

Will you be wearing glasses every day? Or will you alternate with contacts?

Thanks everyone. I love the age of digital cameras - it makes picking out glasses so much easier! I agree that with my eyebrows that I don't really want the frame to be too heavy, and not top heavy at all.

My face is oval, so that supposedly means I can wear whatever shape I want, but looking at the pictures I think I need to be careful that the frames are not too wide. My eyes are fairly wide set, also, so I'll keep in mind sarbear's (Sarah, right?) advice and try to find glasses that center my eye in the frame.

Thanks everyone, and anyone else that has advice, please chime in!

I definitely like the shapes of the glasses you've picked out so far. My favorites are the first two and the very last pair. I prefer the thinner frames on you. Good luck with your search and I look forward seeing more pics!

I think the best ones for me are in photo #3. The top line seems to follow your natural eyebrow arch better, and they don't seem as large for you. I've heard that you want your eye centered directly in the center of the lense - both horizontal and vertical. So maybe the frames all look too big to me because they frames aren't fitted to your face.

Really good start. These are all pretty good to very good on you. I don't think it will be to dificult for you to find glasses with your face shape.
I like the last pair, and I like the look of the cute detail that you showed on the side of a pair. I don't care for the frames with a heavyness or thickness to them.
I'm looking forward to seeing what they bring in for the spring collection.

I'm not good at this but definitely don't like the glasses in pictures 6 and 7 on you. I like the red color or the narrower framed light brown as far as color. I have brown framed glasses that I now feel are too heavy. They are ok when wearing lighter colors but just too much when worn with black, brown, navy and other darks near the face.

Here are a few glasses I tried on last weekend. I have an eye appt this week, and will have a few more pics, I'm sure.

I'm not sure if I'll actually get any of these frames, as they are in the midst of bringing in spring styles.

Please let me know what shape/color works. None of the frames are black (black is too harsh for my coloring) but dark brown. Dh likes the first ones (red) best, and feels that I shouldn't go too dark with the frames.

Please keep in mind that I need these glasses to last for about 2 years, and they will be the only pair I own. I'd rather spend on one quality pair than 2 cheap pairs.

Thanks!!
