The new styles of sandals for this summer have definitely been more minimal (I'm thinking specifically of ones from Madewell or J Crew, very hipster-normcore), with only a strap or two and less detailing. On the other hand, the ankle strap trend is still going, so the simpler gladiator styles are still reasonably current.</p> <p>I do think a gladiator sandal is one of those styles that's always around during the summer, even if it's not the dominant trend. They're just too comfy to give up and they look good on my foot/ankle shape. I think this type of low gladiator will always be around in one form or another. And I need comfortable shoes now, since I am working retail and am on my feet, walking around on a hard floor for hours at a time. I just hope I'll be able to wear them for another summer or two. What do you think?</p>
