I got a half size down and they fit! I was worried they wouldn't be long enough but they are and the gaping is less. They could be a little tighter in back but I think this is good enough for me.

Thanks Dustt for the navy and citron inspiration for today's outfit!

I have always adored loafers. Must be that half-preppy gene I have. Regular width shoes fit me the way yours do all the time, as I have a regular/slightly narrow foot and a narrow heel. This shoe comes in a narrow size, you might want to give that a try.

Shoes look this way on my feet often, but if they're comfy and don't slip off my feel in the back, it's all goodie Sometimes a shoe insert helps if they slip a little. I'd keep them!

I had not worn loafers in years when I bought a pair of black patent loafers at Cole Hahn last year. They turned out to be great with both jeans and some dressier pants and the most comfortable shoes that I own. Bought a pair of white and tan loafers (Trotters) for spring. I am a loafer convert!

Thanks for the advice everyone! I am going to try a half size down to see if the gaping problem goes away. I did try the Munro Kiwi loafers and they fit with no gape but they don't have the beautiful gold hardware which I love. I'm a sucker for bling.

If these loafers are comfy Suja, and don't fall off your feet - go for it. Your foot is wider across the toes and narrower at the heel, which makes this loafer fit the way it does. Perhaps going down half a size will do the trick.

Have to say that the white loafers paired with the frock looks fabulously fresh and on trend. xo

Beautiful look but I agree too wide--they should not gap at the sides.
I have this problem since I have an overall narrow foot except for bunion-toe area. So very tapered styles are out, and I usually can't wear N or S anymore (used to only be able to wear shoes made in narrow sizes), but M width to give toe room frequently gaps elsewhere.
I found some nice slipper flats on sale at JCrew that fit through the toe box and even heel, but gapped along the sides, and so I had to leave them.
If you thought you might use an insole, you could try it because sometimes it elevated the foot enough to reduce the side gap.
But I think if you are patient and try some different brands, you can find your white loafers.

I love the idea of these fantastic white loafers for you, Suja, and they look absolutely splendid with that beautiful blue striped dress and cardi. But like Deb, I was wondering if they are perhaps slightly too wide?

In any case: I absolutely think you need a pair of white loafers in your wardrobe, so fab!

Hmm, I went back and checked and they are just right at the toe box but there is some room around the sides but the length is perfect so my feet don't slide. They fit well now but now I'm wondering whether they will get looser with wear and how much I should plan for that.

Good point, I'll have to make a judgement call on how much they might stretch.

Well, I was sure that loafers were too masculine and not pretty enough for my style and was ready to pass on the trend . Then something just drew me to these shoes. Maybe it was the white and gold combo which I love. Once I put these on my feet, it was love!

They are so comfortable, on par with the slippers I was just wearing. And maybe my eyes are starting to adjust to the trend but I actually think these are cute, if not pretty. They are going to be perfect with my spring summer wardrobe.

Anyone else a loafer convert?
