I didn't actually get a bra fitting, because I don't have a Nordstrom's near me, but I used NAS to buy a Natori memory foam bra and decided to buy it in 32C rather than 34B like I generally wear...it fits perfectly and is incredibly comfortable! I love it!

I love Chantell bras. Last time I was in the US, i got 2 fantastic seamed ones - I didn't even buy ones on sale because I wanted what was best for my, um, uplift, not just for my pocketbook - and was measured again just to ensure I picked the right size.

Well done, Lisa!

How wonderful to know that YLF is a group of supportive women who are now well-supported : )

Maya I would be happy to buy you a Crumbs cupcake. There's one in Manhattan and one in Westfield.

I'm going to keep the seamed bra, it's a change for me and it has incredible support. Quite comfy!

I encourage anyone who has not gotten a fitting to do so after reading the bra thread. It's worth every penny to get something you wear everyday to fit correctly. I almost wore my new bra out of the store, I was so happy with it.

Lisa, I hope you will join me for another cupcake in NY at some point!

I wear mostly wovens so I don't have issues with seams. At your size you don't really need them though. Or you could just save your seamed bras for woven tops. They will give better shape.

@Michelle - I don't want to hijack Lisa's happy thread, but to answer your question - it was at NAS. And I felt at the time that my fitter did a good job...just haven't been happy with the tight fit on the bras...

But to the point of the thread - yay, Lisa - I am glad that you had a successful fitting, and you are so right - Maya deserves a cupcake for the yeoman's effort she put into her YLF bra thesis - I am certainly motivated to get refitted, especially after seeing post after post of success stories.

Yay, Lisa! I have got the same Chantelle one in Cappuccino and love it!
Michelle, I did not have a success in the local speciality store in my city. They put me into 36B instead of 38B I was wearing before - it fitted better but still was not good. I realized this at NAS when I had another fitting and it was 34C. This size fits me much better! Definitely NAS fitting was better for me than my local shop.

MPJ, where did you get your fitting done? if it was at a department store, try and locate a specialty lingerie store. That really is the best bet, bar none.
ON that note, I have to gloat a little. I recently discovered that I live literally around the corner from not one, but two such shops! And they're not even my favourite one in this city, but they leave department stores and places like Lasenza choking in their dust!

High five from a fellow 32C who was also put in a 34B by the Victoria's Secret crew.

I think the answer to your seamed bra question is "don't wear it under knits" but I haven't bought a seamed bra yet so I'll defer to Maya...

Hi,

I confess, despite all the wonderful advice in the bra fitting thread AND all the testimonials from fellow YLFers after bra fittings, I have held off getting a fitting for myself until now.

I usually have a fitting once a year, but I would go to Victoria Secret or Gap Body. Both measured over my clothes and current bra, declared a 34B and that, was that.

During NAS I purchased two Chantelle Intimates bras to try something new. I am fairly certain I've seen this brand mentioned on YLF at some point. I loved everything about them, except the fit. My bra straps are always falling down. And while these two bras looked ok at first, I was suspicious.

I stopped by my local Nordie's today and got a bra fitting BEFORE I cut off the tags on my new bras and I am SO GLAD that I did. Like many others, I was wearing the wrong size. Now I am a happy 32C.

I was able to exchange my two NAS sale bras for the correct size and I splurged and bought a third bra. I decided to try something new, a non padded version. But I wonder, what do you do about the seams showing through under shirts?

A big thanks to Maya for sharing her bra wisdom and another big thanks to all the YLF members who have created posts about their bra fitting success stories.

*hugs*
