JAleenn, Thank you for your suggestion.  I will wear it both ways, sometimes "piled on, sometimes not". There are numerous ways to mix and match the pants and jacket. Since you may add navy to your wardrobe, it will be an easy piece to style and wear often. By all means wear the jacket and pants together. I would even try pairing the navy gingham with your black pieces. Made a second trip to Target today to get it.  It certainly is a deviation from what I usually do---buy and return. Thanks for putting pics on here for me. Ryce, thank you so much for your views on the jacket. I had gotten home with the jacket and trying it, the pants and other things I had here when I got a text offering me some volunteer work.  I had exactly 1 hour till  I needed to be there.  Without giving any real thought to it, I put on my white slim cropped jeans, a pretty pastel green camp shirt, comfortable for moving about, white and navy animal print esparadilles, then what topper did I want to wear?  You guessed it, my brand new bomber jacket,   As expected, I did take it off when I started working  I even had a perfect Anne Klein tote bag, navy and white stripes and polka dots, with a subtle yellow stripe.  I don't think this sounds so good as I am describing it, but I believe all of you on the forum would like it. approprio,  Thank you, I am somewhat of a gambler at heart, so I am taking the chance.  Smiley face back at you. Matchy-matchy is on trend, and personally, FWIW - I don't think it crosses into costume territory.I think it looks FRESH. Gingham is classic enough to have staying power, and it sounds like each piece would stand alone. Only one way to find out ;) Anonymous on "gingham" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/gingham-1#post-1807674 Thu, 11 May 2017 16:01:23 +0000 Anonymous 1807674@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ For an alternative point of view, I would not buy the jacket with the plan to wear it with the pants.  To me, that is one of those looks that crosses too easily into costumey territory.  But mine is just one opinion, so take it or leave it as you see fit.   If I bought those two items, I would plan to wear them separately, and know that I could get by wearing them together if a need arose - like the weather changes and I suddenly need to grab a jacket, etc.   I think either piece would look good paired with white, navy, or a bright that suits you - tomato red, bright yellow, grass green, etc.   Angie has recently purchased some navy gingham pants and has posted about the combos she is making with them.  I will try to add a link. Also, link for the jacket. Only sizing I found for a jacket was plus, but if that's the jacket, I think it's cute. Glad you found pants you loved right away. It is pretty matchy, but with a solid tank and accessories, I think it could be a nice look. I think both pieces look very current, but timeless, and would be worn separately too. I have plenty of black clothes.  I am currently not buying anything in black.  I think navy, ink is a better color for me at this point in my life.  I am loving navies, ink, etc. I saw a pair of gingham navy, white slim ankle pants at Target.  Size 10 fits perfect, except slightly long.  I will have them hemmed.  I purchased them and will keep them.  First item I have purchased in a long, long time that I did not stress over before deciding if to keep or return. Now, my first question:  there is also a matching bomber jacket.  The large size fits me perfectly.  Are matching pants and jackets ever worn together now?  If I do get both would wear each of them with other non-matchy items sometimes.  However, I will not buy the bomber unless you all tell me it is o.k. to wear with the pants.They are casual wear.  I have a non-related navy/white popover top that I like a lot.  Would never wear it with pants and jacket mentioned above. Just so you know, I do like a third piece whenever possible. Question #2:  Should I get the jacket.  #3 Should I keep popover. #4  What would you do?
