I'm sure I'll find another blouse or two in the coming months. Your comments and celebration just make my morning!</p> <p>My clothes arrived last night! So I did some quick try-ons and photos. They aren’t entirely fair because I had just polished off a nice big meal and it’s the end of the day. So, my tummy was full. And I didn’t get the chance to sit down in these. So I need to some more trying on today. And the angle of the camera is not the best either. It’s a little tilted. But for preliminary feedback... </p> <p><b>Green dress.</b> It’s a rayon and spandex blend and it’s ribbed sweater knit material. So it really needs a body smoothing slip or satin slip and Spanx imo. And a good bra. (Totally not wearing a good bra for these photos.) It’s such a lovely color and shape!! I could see this being in my summer wardrobe for a long time to come. Maybe not an everyday sundress; I feel rayon knits would snag like the dickens. But for a family walk, dinner out, or church, I’m loving it!! </p> <p><b>Slip skirt.</b> Love it! It’s polyester satin so I’m worried about it snagging. It also doesn’t have any stretch and will need a slip of some kind to smooth things out. not what I would call cooling summer fabric. I loooove the slit! And it’s such a good print and color for me! I like the peach or orange undertones to the brown in this. My only complaint is I feel I look very “blocky” in it from behind. So this will definitely need waist definition when worn. </p> <p><b>Leopard top. Yay or nay??</b> Tucked in it works. Worn out, it feels really frumpy to me. I think it might be too big. (Also, needs a lifting bra.) There’s quite a bit of excess fabric and it’s mesh, so it has lots of give. I’m not sure about the color. I don’t hate it. But it doesn’t feel as fresh or lovely as the leopard print skirt. I think I’m going to exchange for a smaller size or just return it. </p> <p><b>White tee.</b> It’s white, so it’s likely going to need gentle Oxyclean soaks after each wear to keep it fresh. But I just LOVE the scoop neckline. I know it’s just a tee. But it’s the right kind of tee.</p> <p>I will take better more proper photos and do a new post soon. Maybe more as a styling WIB/WIW theme. The lime green won’t work with the olive bomber jacket, I don’t think. But the leopard slip skirt is going to be really fun with it! I feel I have things to play with now.</p> <p>I need and want a few more blouses and third pieces. I am working on a knitted 1950s style blouse (see photo) in a very cool toned violet purple. I think it will look really beautiful with the slip skirt and jeans. I also would love to find another jacket or cardigan of some kind to wear with everything. I have a denim shirt and chambray shirt that can work as third pieces if I tie them at the waist or belt them. But I feel the need for more. Also more summer shoes! I have heels. But I need to find cute, comfy flats for everyday. I’ll be looking for more in the coming weeks and months, don’t you worry! I needed an outlet from being with my husband and 3-year-old child in 700 sq feet for over three weeks. I haven’t bought much new clothing in 3 years, since having my little one. Many of my clothes didn’t fit and had become uncomfortable. And so... I shopped. And when the first batch arrived, and both delighted me in fit and style, I went back for seconds. </p> <p>NY &amp; Company has never been high on my list for some reason. After the disappointing fit of the NYDJ jeans I tried last month, I wasn’t sure what to do. I was down to one pair of leggings with holes in the inner thighs and gym leggings. I couldn’t afford to spend tons. Anyway, I somehow remembered NY&amp;Co. My former stylist highly recommended them to me several years ago. Surprisingly, they had curvy high waist jeans! And then I realized, I just have so little to wear. I’ve tried for the last 3 years to fit into the “mom uniform” mood. But it makes me ache with sadness. Sure, I hate having pretty clothes get dirty. But t-shirts and jeans just don’t make me happy. At all. Even though, as you can see, I bought jeans and a t-shirt, lol! For me, it really has to be very stylized, none of this soccer mom. (No offense to anyone who chooses that as a style!) So...jeans —and an epic 60% sale—led to several other garments, as you can see. </p> <p>Not pictured is a pajama tee and bottoms. Figured no one needs to see that. :)</p> <p>The jeans fit fantastic! If you’re curvy, these are great! The material for the boyfriend style is pretty lightweight. The skinny jeans are heavier material. I don’t necessarily love the skinny jeans’ distressing but ‘twas the only color available in my size. Despite the fact that they will likely date very quickly, I think it’s kind of a nice change for me to try something ROTE and not so polished. At any rate, the fit is fantastic and very comfortable. </p> <p>Blouse. Love the fit. And...It’s sooo soft! Lovely rayon/spandex blend. It’s definitely a true lime green. I tend to choose cooler greens. But it looks nice on me and it feels very summery! </p> <p>These items haven’t arrived yet but are due any day.<br /> Leopard skirt. Feels very 70s to me due to the higher slit. It’s poly/spandex blend. The big question is how it will fit my hips and if the fabric can hold up to little hands. I think this skirt will transition beautifully into cooler weather with tights and boots. </p> <p>Green dress. Another wild card. It feels sooo late 50s or early 60s to me, which is an era I’ve been moving more and more towards. It also reminds me in spirit of a green dress Jean Peters wore in Three Coins In A Fountain. I don’t see wearing this in the winter necessarily. But for summer it called to me. </p> <p>Leopard tee. It’s nylon mesh. I adore the neckline and back cutout. Another summer shirt. </p> <p>Bikini. I like to sunbathe. It may not fit. It had few reviews and one buyer complained the top ran small. </p> <p>Tee. I thought it would be fun paired with the skirt. With the jeans I can add my linen bomber jacket and have some fun with that. </p> <p>I still need bras and summer sandals. But those will have to wait a little bit. Lol! </p>
