It was big yes, but it's longer, rather than wider, so it worked for me. In truth bopping around NYC a larger bag is best, because I know for me, I am always carrying around a bunch of stuff, and a tote ends up more practical. Especially in summer when I often have all my usual plus larger items such as a water bottle and sunglasses with a case.
