According to the Lucky guide, FWIW, a petite gal can carry a large bag and look fine (see, e.g., the Olsens)... I don't think it will look weird, but I'm not sure about the practicality of an open tote. If you really used it to capacity, it would be pretty darn heavy on your shoulder, and I'm sure you don't want to carry it in your hand like a beach bag all the time either, KWIM?

Lucky me got to see this bag in person and I liked it on you. It was big yes, but it's longer, rather than wider, so it worked for me. In truth bopping around NYC a larger bag is best, because I know for me, I am always carrying around a bunch of stuff, and a tote ends up more practical. Especially in summer when I often have all my usual plus larger items such as a water bottle and sunglasses with a case. And the color, WOW on you!

I can't help but think that the bright blue color will also make the bag seem even larger. It's lovely, though.

I cannot wait until handbags stop looking like luggage:(

I guess I can use it as a packing bag only, but I'll have to decide if it's worth the price I paid.

I already packed it up for the swap though, so in theory I suppose I am keeping it...

This was the bag I really wanted and the size seems much more appropriate, but it is way out of my price range.

I know this bag well - it was on one of my Nordstrom posts, and I have a few tall clients using it too. It's a very roomy big bag.

It really depends on how you want to use it. I'm taller then you, but just as dainty, and it's too big for me to sport as "my handbag". But I'd use it as a bag to pack other things in, along with my handbag. For example, I'd pack Rosie's goodies into it when she travels with us.

I'm struggling with the same issue. I bought a large bag approx. 2 years ago and have worn perhaps twice! This year I really want to wear it!
I'm keeping my eye on this thread ...

I have a black bag in a similar size and use it a lot, but then again, I love big bags and wear them to Uni, so I need somewhere to store pencil cases, umbrellas, books... I used to feel more comfortable with big bags when I was 20 pounds larger. Now that I've become a mini-me (lol), they do look overwhelming, but if you need something that size, then that's it

I think if you need to carry a lot of things somewhere then it is cute, but otherwise it seems overwhelmingly large.

However... it could also depend on the material. Some will soften and mold to your shape, some won't. It's hard to tell.

Recently I discovered that flat tote bags can be more comfy than I ever expected. I always used to think that they would be awkward with my proportions, especially short torso. And it seems to feel fine as long as I don't overload. It's kind of making me reconsider my stance on totes.
So try it out.
The bright blue sounds great.

I have to admit, I was able to sneak in a few extra items in there for tomorrow's swap, which makes keeping it very tempting...

Good question, Michelle. Some days I am more disciplined about what I carry than others, but generally I try to rotate bags (and the stuff I carry in them) so I don't strain my back or shoulders too much or get used to carrying the same weight in the same way every day.

Consider your shoulders, too. Will you be inclined to load a huge bag up with stuff just because you can? And if you do, will your shoulders be cursing your name the next morning?

I don't think it would look bad against your frame. Yes, it will definitely look big, because it is big. But it looks like a large tote-sized bag, and lots of people wear bags of that size. However, if you don't have any need for a bag of that size, you might want to go smaller--smaller will look better proportioned.

Depends on how you use it.
It would be plenty big enough to double as a nappy bag. Or even popping some groceries in when out and about if you don't have a reusable bag on you. I could also see you popping a work out towel, some pumps and being ultra stylish as you go from gym to work.
I could find all kinds of ways to fill a bag that big! Very handy, and looks great.

I recently won this bag on ebay in a bright blue solid color.

http://www.zappos.com/multivie.....4#autoplay

If you look at the video description, you can see a pretty close approximation of how big the bag is compared to me. The girl modeling it appears pretty close in overall size to me.

Is it too big? I love how roomy it is and I love the color, but I also feel sort of overwhelmed by it. I have 7 days to return it so fast answers are needed...
