Another C of H fan here. They fit me great. I love #4 and #5. I like the look of the first ones but if they are uncomfortable then that is not a great look.

Suz, trying them on again, I think the tightness in the rise is just not going to work. Wedgie city for sure. I guess I could try them on again in a few days since I know my size fluctuates a little.

I'm becoming a little obsessed with the CoH jeans to be honest. It seems like a lot, but actually it's only twice the price of others, and if they're perfect, they'll easily take the place of two less-perfect jeans.

These are both fantastic on you! Wow. I love the cropped length in #3. I think I know what you are talking about re the fit; with my long rise I experience this, too. Even in the right size my culottes are just on the edge. Some days they feel uncomfortable, no matter what, and other days they feel fine. Partly it's just the memory of ill-fitting higher (but not high enough!) rises in the old days, I think. Memories of wedgies past, ugh.

The others are great as is (don't crop!!!) -- very elegant on you, actually, in a RATE kind of way. :)

And I'm sure the CoH would be great too. I do love how CoH jeans fit; I have to say I'm a huge fan. I wonder if it is a good shape for our particular fit issue. Hmmm.

UmmLila, how did the CoH jeans fit? True to size? It looks like they're solid cotton without stretch so I'm inclined to try the larger of my two usual sizes.

I already have the black CoH ones on order. I tried them at a local shop but had to order my size (I am bummed it is taking 2 weeks, but I wanted to give them the business).

I am waiting to decide if I will wear cuffed up or have them hemmed.

Firecracker - yes, I could probably justify two, although I usually buy things on deep clearance and some of these are full price. But that's ok.

Unfortunately petites don't fit me, as I have a very long rise to go with my short legs. Luckily this style is easy enough to alter.

Thanks! Good point about flares - I was just trying to distinguish from jeans that curve out below the knee if you lay them out flat. When on, #4-5 give a flared effect that I really like.

If anything #1-3 are too tight - but they might stretch out. I'm nervous about that though. I feel a little sausage-like in the top and they are in wedgie-land.

I'm glad you like #4-5! So, no cropping those?

I finally did get these Loft wide-leg cropped jeans, as my way-down-market version of the gorgeous jeans Angie shows in her photos above. They aren't black, so they probably aren't in the running for you, but they are an inexpensive way to get in on the trend. And they came in petite sizes, too, if you're looking for that option.

I like both pairs of jeans on you, and I would hesitate to cut off the Rag and Bone pair, because they are so fab just as they are. I also think the Citzens of Humanity ones would be fantastic on you. They are not the same as boyfriend jeans of the past few years--these do look wider at the leg opening, and they have the current high rise. If you really need to update your jeans wardrobe, you could justify more than one pair, couldn't you?

(pssssst.....straight wide legs are flares!)

Pant lengths are my thing.

*rubs hands together*

I LOVE #3. That length is spectacular on you, Greyscale. They look like the right size in the photo. Do they feel too big?

LOVE #4 and #5. Perfect length. And I am wearing flares like that RIGHT NOW (with a lower waist). My Love Story jeans are favourites.

Happy Election Day, US folks!

My jeans wardrobe needs an overhaul. One coveted item is a pair of black wide-leg cropped jeans. I dislike flares / bell-bottoms on myself, so I'm going for straight wide legs. Crops are hard on my very short legs, so I'm looking for some tough love on PPL.

Here's my jeans pinterest board, things that have caught my eye whether they're in my price range or not:
https://www.pinterest.com/monochro/jean-ome/

I can't decide between a few different styles. I bought two, but I may keep neither of these.

1. Madewell high waist wide-leg jeans. They're an affordable duplicate of the pricey Rachel Comey Legion jeans. 70s-style at the top -- this is honestly something I have a poison eye for, on myself. Tight through the rise -- one size up is probably too big, but I should go back to the store and try it. I would cut them off to get the intended look on my short legs, maybe where I've folded them in the third photo?

2. Rag & Bone wide-leg jeans with a 2000s look to them. The low waist is less trendy but much much more comfortable on my fussy tummy. They're new, but do they look too dated? Could I crop these to modernize them or would they work best floor-length like we wore them back then? How short should I crop them, if so?

The other contender is the straighter CoH crops in finds. Honestly I sort of love them. They're more my style, if they fit: medium rise, weathered denim, a bit grunge. I always go for grunge over 70s. But are they too much like boyfriend jeans?

Other jeans suggestions appreciated too!
