I love your hair as is! (I'm no help) Also love the one posted just above that is a bit shorter. So great that you can wear it both curly and straight. Your hair is beautiful!

I always talk big about doing something drastic the day before I'm scheduled to get my hair cut, but now I'm waffling. When I mentioned that I was thinking of going quite a bit shorter, both my husband and 6 year old son said "NO!" They don't help with the confidence factor!

I am no expert! But I am not sure I would go any shorter than the photo you added. I like the softness of a bit of length around your face, and at this length you still have the opportunity to style straight or curly. As AG says an angled or concave bob might work nicely.

I adore your hair. If you want to change it I think an angled wedge would be flexible and keep the curly/straight options as well as some length in front. You're so gorgeous you could get aways with anything, though.

Of course! Both myself and former coworker had curly hair, it can look perfectly proffesional, as long as its well styled

Aida - you're spot on! The picture above is just a week or two before we had the December meet-up. And yes, I did wear the same sweater! Great memory!

Can I still pull off a polished, professional look with a short, curly 'do?

I'm no expert, but I loved the curly 'do' you sported for pictures on the beach during your recent vacation - just fabulous!

I think the photo you just posted with the most recent 'chop job' is wonderful on you. Angie's 100% right about this - it's ok to shorten the hairstyle up a wee bit, and the curls are amazing on you.

Hah Christy, when is that photo from? I was going to suggest something similar to how you had it back for the December meet up; you wore that same top I think? I think that length you have in the photo just above but with more dramatic, shorter layers styled wild curly would be SUPER fun

^I suggest you go shorter(if you want a change), I think it would look great with your face shape. The front pieces you could have to the middle of your cheekbone and back, all layered up and short. I actually like your shorter do as opposed to the longer one you have now, its a bit more unique and I think suits your face perfectly

Thanks for the input! So here's the last time I did a bit of a "chop job"....should I go even shorter? Or is this about right?

I think you look great with curly hair so maybe you can do A line angular bob, a shorter than what you have now. As someone who has very wavy/curly hair, I struggled with it until I cut it in a short very angled bob(longer layers towards the face). I eventually cut it in the pixie but the bob was a great style in terms of versatility because I could wear it straight or curly(and it really made styling it curly a breeze). I think that sort of style would be wondeful on you:)

I third that suggestion! My bet, based on my own hair experience, is that if you have a few more layers on top and condition the heck out of it (and put down the blow dryer and straightener!) your top layers will curl too. For me, it's the damage and dryness that curb the curls.

I second that - you look great with curls in a halo around your head. It looks vibrant and lively and just makes your face and expression glow.

I agree with hubs. Don't go pixie short.

I do vote a MUCH shorter curly AND layered bob. I LOVE your hair wild.

I am terrible at suggestions of this sort, but I do love your hair curly. What worked for me was to find a real good hairdresser and see what she recommended.

Hi all! I have an appointment with my stylist tomorrow and I have been feeling the urge to do something a bit drastic with my hair. My husband keeps telling me "don't do it!" after having been through several traumatic hair cutting experiences in years past. That, and he prefers my hair long.

The trouble is my hair is SO thick and it's partly crazy curly (the underneath layers) and partly frizzy straight (the top layers). Which means that every day is a battle with my hair. I have to beat it into submission, either with a flat iron or a curling iron. My hair styling tool drawer looks like I have a split personality!!! If all else fails, it's barely long enough to pull back with approximately 8011 bobby pins, but I don't really like the way I look with my hair all pulled back because I don't have any bangs and it looks too severe all pulled back.

I don't really have the face or features for a pixie - my face shape is too round. Are there any other slightly edgy, cool shorter styles that will still allow me to look professional and pulled together? Any ideas? Or should I just abandon the idea altogether and keep what I have now?

I have to post and run, but looking forward to your thoughts! :)

Here are a few pictures of my hair curly and straight at the length it is now.
