I color sort and use cold water and washing soap with bleach ( when I can find it) or Oxyclean and have had no problems. If you don’t have enough white for a regular load, get white sheets and/or towels or pale blue.

I dry white or cream tops in the sun whenever I can. It makes a big difference!

Sorting, cold water, hang to dry I have had some luck in removing dinge by adding vinegar to the wash water, but am told this can also damage the fibres of the item, so proceed with caution on that one!

In addition to color sorting, I also use dye magnets/color catchers. It looks like a dryer sheet but you put it in the washer. It absorbs loose dye in the water, keeping it from depositing on other clothes. I re-use them until they get extra dark. I've found they work even for tricky garments like red tops with white trim.

Wow, colour sorting! [Slaps head]

I feel kind of stupid but I had not thought of that, seriously. Can yoy guess I don't do it much/ever? But I didn't use to wear cream befor either. We live and learn :)

I will try this on the weekend. I have the exact twin of the cream tee that got dingy after one wash, so I can comprare results.

Can’t say as I’ve had this happen. I use the gentle cycle a lot, and hang pretty much everything to dry. Also, I’m a crazy color sorter. Not just lights & darks, but reds get their own load, and when one load gets too big, I sort by even more specific color.

I think that washing separately from anything colored or dark helps. I also have found that hydrogen peroxide can help take out stains or color bleeding. I struggle with this, too.

Has anybody found out how? Am I the only one who hasn't figured this out? It feels that no matter how I wash them, cream tees after one wash become... dingy white...

How to get them clean without having them lose that cream hue? If anyone has found the answer please enlighten me!

P.S. I do not take things to the dry-cleaners, except some outerwear/suits, but for tops that is a no-go, my skin is too sensitive. So I really hope that is not the answer... But if it is I wod still like to know
