But seeing this drapey pair is making me rethink culottes. </p> <p>My go-to summer bottoms this year will again be my rayon jersey harem pants from last summer, plus my chambray joggers. The harems are drapey but the elasticized ankle cuffs give them some structure, and chambray pants look a bit denim but strafe lighter and cooler. I actually have YLF and Angie to thank for convincing me to try track pants and harem pants. I thought all Icould wear was a skinny Jean or bootcut trouser. But behold! Options! They make me feel glamorous while being comfy and casual. However &nbsp;I have ordered those white ones from BR so we will see...<br />Culottes may be a good summer option for me though - covered enough for work but breezy enough for the outside heat if fabrication is light. Hmmm...<br />I agree with you that culottes can be worn by any body type and height - much so as the midi skirt. Makes me want a pair myself! </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/get-on-board-with-culottes#post-1470178 Tue, 07 Apr 2015 19:35:12 +0000 Meredith 1470178@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>It didn’t surprise me that culottes were met with mixed reviews after Angie’s post today.  I wasn’t so sure about them before I saw fabbers like Sveta wear them with such style.  And I also thought they might be too much look for my conservative town.  However, late this winter I went into a local boutique and was pleasantly surprised to see them on the rack. This made me feel a little more confident that I might not be the only one wearing the look.  I’ll let you all know how many sideways glances and stares I detect while out and about!</p> <p>Why I decided to try them:</p> <ul> <li> I like artistic, drapey things.</li> <li>I want easy, breezy bottoms for hot weather.</li> <li>I need options that are dressy enough for my museum job, but<br /> still allow me to sit down with groups of kids or move heavy racks of chairs.</li> </ul> The pair I purchased reads more slim cut than flared, but the fabric has quite a bit of volume and drape. The midi length is okay for me because I am tall.  A lot of people mentioned in the comments to Angie’s post that they are concerned about the length.  I guess I’d just encourage everyone to consider the design elements Angie outlined and try to find a pair or to try based on what will work for YOUR body. These are going to be summer workhorses, I tell you!  You don’t want to miss out on these! Or, if you are staunchly opposed to culottes, what is your go-to summer bottom?  </p>
