Thanks for the report on the tops. I hadn't seen #2 during either my last trawl through gap.com or the brick and mortar store and it will totally work for my nascent business casual capsule!

#1 and #2 are super fab. I'm not much of a long sweater gal, so I'm not a fan of #3. I do love twinsets and I like the idea of using the tees to make a modern one.

I have a hard time finding turtlenecks that don't scratch. Someone must make them, but I don't know who!

Thanks for the report! I echo Suz's point about holding out for quality. I find my standards can slip if I have to make the effort to ship something back, which is probably why I'm a B&M shopper. I love the tees you got, colours look gorgeous and will be great on you. Also like the zip front. Laughing at your DH's bathrobe comment as mine made the same observation about one of the long cardis I tried at NAS.

I am impressed with your refusal to settle for poor quality. I love the idea of pinot noir for you. And like the idea of modern sweater sets. Great choices. Poor execution on GAP's part.

So, my recent GAP order ended up being less excellent than expected. The merino wool sweaters were all a bust - all the turtlenecks and crew necks went back. They were too scratchy for me at the collarbone and cuffs.

#1 below ended up coming snagged in two places. I was able to get it replaced. Thick cotton, not scratchy with a substantial zipper. Hung the replacement comes without snags

#2 is smashing I bought in Pinot noir and the green. Both gorgeous. Plan to wear alone in early fall and with the cardi as a modern twinset in late fall/winter

#3. Gorgeous color, reasonable sift, but DAh told me it looked like I was wearing a bathrobe. Returned it and am trying a cocoon cardi for a twinset.
