With Gap, I wouldn't buy online (either from ebay or gap.com) unless you can and are willing to return them; their variance is just too high.

My previous pair -- bought over a year ago -- bagged out after every wash (usually went from "obscene" to "just perfect" in about 3 hours) AND also bagged out over time (9 months ago, they fit slimly but are now halfway to being boyfriends. And I've gained weight).

My current pair -- purchased over Memorial Day -- do NOT bag. I pulled them out of the wash, threw them on at their "obscene" tightness, and went to work thinking everything would be fine by the time I was done with my morning coffee. HUGE MISTAKE; I felt so unfab all day long :(. The label reads the same (ie, material content), so I don't know what happened. Like the other ladies here, I wash on cold, inside out, and never put them in the dryer.

My advice is to take them home, and wear them around the house for a few hours to see how they perform. To my eye, the dark wash is casually dressy ... and 50% off is a pretty good deal!

I think they're worth but definitely agree with merman - wash in cold and hang to dry. I do that with my Gap L&Ls and they don't bag out at all.

I don't have these, but I'd love to see you in straight leg jeans Kirti. I bet you would rock them. My Gap outlet jeans stretch out a fair amount.

My patchwork jeans are the real straights and i love them (though that could be solely because of the patches lol). I don't think they stretch a ton. I can usually get away with wearing mine twice before i need to wash to shrink them back to where they need to go...

ETA: Also if you're sure of their fit (i found them very TTS) you should search on Ebay. Not sure what the price is with a 50% sale but i found mine for like $20 NWTs.

I would go for it Kirti - especially at 50% off. I don't have Gap real straights - but I think I have just about everything else. I find the key thing ismaintenance - wash in cold water and air dry.

I tried on the Gap real straight jeans today and they fit well. They are currently 50% off so not too expensive either. Should I get them? Do these stretch out a lot? Are they worth it? I would love some advice from those who have tried these jeans.
