my newest sexy bfs are 100 cotton so not a lot of stretch there, only like there used to be "back in the day"
Anything with less than 98%cotton is going to stretch once you get above 2% spandex and or poly.

This season sizing is all over the place, my size in one style is not the same in another. You need to try on in the store and more than one pair of same size to get a fit you really like.

I really like Gap jeans - I have a pair of the premium BF's, a pair of the bootcuts, and a pair of sized up skinnies that fit like straight legs on me. Mine stretch out a little but not too much. I would definitely go with your size, not sized up.

Glory, I had those L&Ls a few years ago too, and I also found they stretched. Then I lost a size and the jeans were quite big on me.

I decided to bring home my regular size. I'll wear them around the house for a while first to see how they do or don't stretch, and I want to try them on with the shoes I anticipate wearing with them to see how the length works.

I want to try some lighter mid wash flares/bootcuts (I own some older dark wash ones from a couple of years ago) but am not sure I want to spend the $$$ for premium right now to try the look. I'm also not sure I want to go with a dramatic flare, and the bootcut on these is a nice moderate flare. If these attain workhorse status and it seems like a trend that has legs for me, then maybe I'll step up in quality later.

I've always found Gap jeans (of all types - skinny, straing and bootcut) to stretch out at least half a size or so. So I usually size down to where they are snug at first wearing but my midday have loosened up considerably.

I bought some sized up Gap super skinny jeans, and they stretched significantly. I didn't ever put them in the dryer, so I can't tell you if they stopped stretching like shiny's.

I haven't bought Gap jeans in a long time, but based on my recent purchase of BR jeans (same company), I'd say size up, if you intend to wash and dry these in the dryer. Those BR jeans shrank substantially -- all over, including in length. After running them through the dryer (twice) they do not stretch out all that much during wear. A little, but nothing like they did before washing.

Not sure either. I had a pair of Gap long and leans a few years ago and they stretched like mad fiends. Could you purchase and try wearing them around the house? I think most jeans show their true colours pretty quickly.

I agree with Tina. I've never had a pair that doesn't stretch out, at least a little. Although I doubt any of the ones I have are the current batch of fabric.

Re the length, though, gap always shrinks on me. I look for at least an extra inch of length when I buy them. If I don't have that I've learned from bitter experience that hey will end up too short.

My advice would be to buy them slightly snug. They will stretch just enough to not look too tight but also not saggy baggy. This has been my personal experience, I have many different pairs in various washes and cuts. The most recent being a pair of med wash bootcuts from 2 months ago. For me it's been pretty consistent.

Yeah, they're really comfortable and a bit loose a size up, but I don't want to get baggy butt syndrome after an hour in bootcut jeans. They definitely have some stretch. I'm thinking I might buy my regular size and try wearing them at home for a couple of hours with the tags on to see how they fare.

The only Gap jeans I own are the BFs, Janet, and from what I understand they are not the most current version -- I believe there has been some retooling to the denim over there since I purchased mine. So I can't help. I'm sorry.
I will say I would be afraid to size up in any brand just for length, though.

Looking at the current crop of Gap bootcut/flare jeans and wondering how much they stretch with wear?

The longs are *just* long enough with a small heel. I get a little more length if I size up, but I'm worried they'll bag out too much with wear.

My old Sexy Boyfriends stretch a lot. I don't want bootcuts to turn into BFs after an hour of wear.

Any advice appreciated!
