Diana: I have tried Kut from the Kloth and ended up finding cheaper jeans at Ann Taylor during sales believe it or not. Though I would buy them if I wanted to change up my brands to something not as mainstream.

I'm really disappointed with Gap and also Old Navy. Banana Republic in recent years has been fitting much better as has Loft and Ann Taylor.

I guess the next step for boyfriend jeans would be to buy some in a thrift store and have those tailored? Has anyone tried this?

This is interesting, Lauren, because I am a pear too and the gap sbfs fit me well. Yes the waist is huge but I think that's part and parcel of the bf style. Mine are from last summer and I got them in the larger of my regular sizes (I am between 29 & 30 usually and I got 30, but 29 also fit.). I guess it might have to do with body shape though, I am a figure 8 pear so I carry my weight at the high hip rather than thigh area. I tried some more recently and they still fit the same, so I don't think the fit has changed since I bought mine last summer..

I'm sorry to hear they didn't work for you! Have you tried kut from the kloth jeans?

Yeah, the fit at Gap has definitely changed in the last couple years. I pulled out a pair of Gap sexy boot cuts from my "has been too small" pile the other day and they were great, but the supposed same size and cut in stores is very different, especially through the thigh which is way too tight, as you say. I haven't successfully bought jeans from Gap in a while, unfortunately. Weirdly, the cuts at Old Navy seem to have remained the same - the Sweetheart fit is tolerable for pear shaped, I find, although not as good as Gap used to be.

Honestly, I haven't bought jeans at GAP for quite a while. I know they do work for some pears. I think it depends on where you are pear shaped. I just like a higher rise than others. I want my jeans closer to my natural waist.

I recently popped into Gap and tried on their Sexy Boyfriend and Sexy Bootcut jeans and hated them. I had to size up almost 3 sizes and even still the thigh was much too narrow for my leg and only about 2/3 of my tush could fit in the back (pics and review here: http://bit.ly/12dIdXo)

I'm wondering if this is just me and my overly pearshaped figure or if this is something new with Gap. I used to LOVE their jeans and only buy there and now I can't seem to find one that fits...?
