I'm wearing them today in size 2 (first photo). Pics 2 and 3 are sizes 6 and 4, respectively. Pic 4 is 2 again. (how's that for confusing?). I would live in these if possible.

Alaskagirl, can you post pics for me?

I haven't ordered them. DH came home, I showed him the GAP pic, said I was thinking about ordering them, and he gave me a resounding "no." Which surprised me, because as I've said, he rarely ever has opinions about what I wear. So I do tend to listen to him when he has a STRONG opinion.

I'm generally a 4 in Gap sizes, and I have these in 2, 4 and 6. I did not order petite because I wanted the option of wearing them full-length. They run a bit big, so the 6 is ultra-baggy on me (as in I can almost shimmy out of them), 4 less so but still quite slouchy (can tug them off), and the 2 is a "neat" sllouch. Hope that helps!

Honestly, if the rear view is the *most* important thing to you, and low pockets are a total deal breaker, I don't think there are any BF jeans that will work. Sagging the jeans low means the pockets hang low. I have some back pocket views on my own Gap BF post:
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-boyfriend

IF you are willing to suspend the pocket debate knowing that it is part of the look, I agree to try the 0P. Sounds like your legs might be similar to Alaskagirl's, and it looks like she has these in her "true" size as well as a larger size. If I remember correctly, the larger size stretched out too much for her.

I suggested sizing up, even two sizes, if you want to achieve a baggier fit, or really baggy fit. If you don't, stick to your size.

May I suggest a petite 0 at this point. I have a feeling that you won't want them too baggy, Jennifer. These will probably be structured in the waist, seat and hips, and roomy on the legs.

I am tempted by the boyfriend jeans (you all are horrible enablers!) ... but I have trepidation. I love the concept. Just not sure what size to order. I usually take a 2p in GAP. That said, I don't own any GAP jeans and haven't for years -- because I don't find the fit to work quite right for me: mostly due to the pocket sizing. Too big. Does nothing for my butt. But I'm wiling to give this a whirl.

The reviews for the Sexy Boyfriend Jean say to size DOWN. Angie says to size UP. What a quandary!

Complicating matters, the darn size chart! Now you will see what I have to deal with on a regular basis:

Petite 00: waist 22½" hips 34¾" thighs 20½"
Petite 0: 23½" - 35¾" - 21"
Petite 2: 24½" - 36¾" - 21¾"

My measurements? My waist is 26-27. Which is probably irrelevant here, since they don't sit at the waist anyway. For that reason, I usually ignore this measurement entirely (except when it comes to dresses fitted in the waist).

Hips are 35 inches. So now we are talking a size 0 (which would still be on the baggy side)... but, my thighs are only 19 inches, which would put me in a 00... argh. Of course, we are looking for a loose fit here, so I don't have to be exact, right?

What matters more to me is the rear view. If the jean pockets are too large, and the yoke too long, and the pockets slide down lower than my butt on to the back of my thigh... well, let's just say, I know from experience that is just not going to be a flattering look for me. No matter how edgy it's supposed to be. Big pockets make my butt look huge -- and it really isn't. Pockets hitting too low make my legs look stumpy and just overall looks weird as can be.

So... try them? What size? Or skip it altogether and just say no?

Why I'm tempted: I love the idea of COMFORT. I do have a tomboy streak. I could use a pair of jeans for slumming around. And yes I'm tired of the skinny look so I don't mind mixing it up and trying a different silhouette.

I should add here that I don't mind wearing baggy jeans at the hip, with a belt. I normally do not wear low rise at all, but if it's loose and not digging unattractively into my belly, I will. In fact, I wear my lounge wear this way all the time. I also do not mind a slightly dropped crotch point, but I'm not too crazy about overly loose thighs. A little loose, just-right loose, fine... I'm afraid based on these measurements that these jeans may wind up too loose, because the average person has curvier thighs than I do with my chicken legs!

I have the size 0p in my cart... talk me in or out...
