hi all, by the time i had decided to order the cords on-line, they were sold out of the 2 and 4, so i ordered the 4P as an experiment. too short and tight for my taste, tho technically they fit as they should! so.....i went on a quest for the 2R's. still sold out til mid-oct. on-line, still out in the local store. finally located a pair at the salinas store. just got them in the mail today---perfection! comfy, loose, but not too baggy, don't ride up in the legs like the P! ok, so now i have to return the 4P's and see if i can get a price adjustment on the new ones (the 4P's were 30% off). ah, the stresses of shopping! i love the fabric of these cords---hope they decided to make them in a few more colors.

thanks so much for your replies---this forum is too fun!!!! the local gap did not have the mustard ones (my fave) in size 2, so maybe i'll order on line. i found myself wishing i could wear them for a new class i start today at the local jc on color theory. i considered petits, but i like them longer in the rise rather than shorter. btw for deborah, the shoes are spring steps, purchased from planet shoes. they are super comfortable and i just can't stop wearing them. thanks again for the feedback!!!!

I'm not one to ask probably about BF jeans but I think the mustard look too big. The other ones look just right but it's hard to see without seeing front & back of them. Maybe I wear my clothes too tight though. I usually wear skinnies or boot cut so I think they should be but still. I also never had a boyfriend or husband who wore his jeans as loose as the first one so whose BF do they mean when they say BF jean lol?

I'm probably not much help but I found these helpful posts from Angie.

I think the 2 could be fine, especially if they give a little as the denim ones do?
Was that a fitting room with no mirror except outside the cubicle?

The 0 looks roomy enough to me, and they look boyfriendy (unlike the red ones on the other shopper, yikes). The fact that they barely stay up without a belt suggests that they are loose enough also. I don't think you need to size up to the 2, unless you want to gather the waist up with a belt. I like the mustard color better on you, fwiw, and I think it's more current looking. You look great in this style, whichever size you settle on.

Mine fit like your 4s, but I know not everyone likes them that baggy. The 2 might be your sweet spot.

I agree that the red pants look too tight... maybe the salesperson knows they will bag out or something? o_0

I think you look great in the 0, but the 2 would be fine for a little looser fit. The 4s do seem a bit overly roomy (even for roomy pants) in the legs. My heart goes out to the woman in the red pants, and I hope she was not swayed by the salesperson's insistence that she was wearing the correct size.

I vote for a size 2 also. Three inches is a lot to have taken in at the waist, and they might not turn out right. I think you'll still get the right look in the 2. The ones pictured almost seem a little too big in the legs.

Which color are you getting? Either way, you'll get a lot of good out of them.

I agree that the 2 is probably the right size. Have considered a 4P? They look pretty long and loose in the leg, at the part where they're rolled. I don't know how tall you are, but I found that in the jeans, the 6P was perfect, whereas the 4 regular was too long to narrow enough at the rolled part. (I found that they otherwise fit pretty similarly, even tho they're a whole size apart). I like the color of the mustard.

trying to figure out which size to buy in the GAP bf cords. i like pants very loose, especially in the rise. i tried on the 4, which are pictured here in mustard. i like the fit, but they were perhaps 3 inches too big in the waist (sorry i covered that with the top). tried the 0 in light brown (saleswoman thought these were the right size). they stayed up (just barely) without a belt but i don't think they are baggy enough! maybe a 2? maybe have the waist taken in on the 4? i posted this on the blog, but here are the photos! (oh my the other woman in the 2nd photo with the red/orange pants was encouraged by the salesperson that they were the right size---i think they are WAY too tight!!!! ugh! but i kept my little mouth SHUT!)
