You ladies have helped solidify my desire for the always skinny. I already have a pair of jogging s so I'm looking for a more substantial material for my next pair.

I have both! I like the legging jeans better because they don't feel as tight on my calves as the always skinny pants do. I did size up on the leggings and they feel very comfortable. Here are a couple of the posts with the leggings (I have the skimmers). IMO, if you can, you should go to a store and try both on. I prefer the leggings because skinny pants feel like they are more constrictive.

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....yay-or-nay

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....with-belts

I had some of the Leggings and hated them -- they compressed my kneecaps and crushed my calves. Conversely I have two pairs of the Always Skinny, which I sized up one size on and I love them. I have them in grey, just bought a pair in white, and will probably get a blue pair when my current skinnies die.

The Always Skinny are more substantial than the Legging jeans, and while fitted, have enough body to stand on their own. The legging jeans do not size up well, the thin stretchy fabric ends up looking like melted skin or something.

Agree with the description of calf sucking. I don't have any of the leggings or jeggings. I do have a couple of pairs of skinny jeans which I love to wear but they are Calvin Klein. I haven't tried the gap ones but it is probably worth a go at it.

What Sveta said. I have not owned the Gap's legging jeans (but do own from another brand). The legging jeans are...well...like leggings! They sort of suck your flesh. I think Janet called legging jeans "calf-sucking." Of course if you have skinny calves that might not happen.

Skinny jeans are a different fabrication and are a bit wider at the bottom than legging jeans.

Legging jeans are thinner material so the same amount of stretch works differently.
I have Gap legging jeans from 2010 and only wore them with tunic length tops and tall boots; always skinny jeans I would wear with a normal length top though: thicker fabrication gives more coverage.
Legging jeans are great to tuck into tall boots though...
Can anyone compare the two? From the names, I assumed that legging jean would be stretchier/tighter, but then I looked at the fabric content, and it appears to be the opposite. I am interested in the similarities or differences you find between the two. Thanks!
