I used to buy jeans that were comfortable in the dressing room only to find that they stretched so much after just one wear that I was afraid that they would end up around my ankles. Most of my jeans are GAP although I don't have any of the new ones yet but now, I generally size down to account for stretch. Depending on your height and body type, even three pounds can make you go down a size so I would definitely wait a couple of weeks.

Just a heads up for you, I had a friend that recently tried to return some items to the Gap about 32 or so days after the original purchase and the store manager told her that all they could do for her was to have corporate office mail her an in-store credit for her purchase even though she had her receipt. If you're going to take them back, be sure to be under the 30 day limit

Thanks guys! Glad to have feedback on the denim. I haven't taken the tags off, though I am dying too! I think I will just wait until I get at least three more pounds off (two weeks?) and evaluate then.

I have the same jeans and bought them as tight as possible -- they haven't stretched out nearly as much as my Gap denim has in the past. Some stretch, but really, not bad at all. Congrats on losing the baby weight!

I agree with Queenie - it's probably worth waiting until the last few pounds come off, since things don't always sit the same way as your proportions change. At that point, I'd buy them snug because most Gap jeans do stretch (I've bought the occasional pair that hasn't, but that seemed to be because they were a heavier denim).

if you think you'll be losing more weight, I'd wait a few weeks to make the purchase. I don't know if anyone else experiences this, but I have found that just because one size of a jean fits me great, if I gain or lose weight, the next size up or down doesn't always translate to my body the same way.

If Gap denim stretches a lot and you will loose more pounds in the next weeks, try to go for a smaller size! It will be such a motivation to loose those last pounds!

Congrats on the weight loss! That is a huge accomplishment! I second the advice you've received...wear them around the house and see how they do. If you don't like the way they fit after a few hours, continue to hunt for some that will work better for you.

I just bought a pair of Gap Always Skinny Jeans. They fit like a glove - very comfortable! But my experience with Gap denim is that it stretches almost without limit. Do you think I should buy a pair in a smaller size even though they are tight? FWIW, these jeans are a congratulations purchase - I've lost almost all of my baby weight, but I still have about four more pounds to go and I'd imagine those pounds will be off in about 3 weeks...
