I have completely NOT done that yet, Suz. There really isn't enough hem to bother trying to let out, it is 3/4". Funny but it really is just about the same length as the burgundy faux wrap dress I wear. And you can definitely wear it as is (if the smoke clears -- eeew!) But is there any seam allowance at the hem? Even an inch might make you feel more comfortable. Also, do the sit test and see how it feels. This was on ebay new with tags, although I failed to either notice or ask if it was from a non-smoking home.  P.U.  A couple of nights on the screened in porch have helped, though I'll wash it anyway.</p> <p>The pattern is somewhat galactic in feel to me, though there is also a bit of crocodile/gator look to it in parts too. </p> <p>It's a tad short, should I still wear it as part of the YLF magic dress brigade? </p>
