Your mom is hilarious! And sort of logical...</p> <p>I used to live in central America and we had to just make peace with sharing space with the critters. I went for something in my sewing basket one day and found a little mouse all cozied up in the yarn. In the chaos that ensured, the mouse took off and learned to stay more to himself after that. I was more unhappy that during rainstorms the wind would lift the ceiling tiles, and bats sometimes got in the house. One day I realized that a bat died above the clear plastic ceiling light in the bathroom (with the fluorescent bulbs) and my entertainment over the course of the next week every time I sat on the toilet was to look up and watch the ants "disappear" the carcass. And don't get me started on the roaches. I'll take anything over those! So, yeah... I've got no advice, just sympathy. Mice absolutely hate it. Either peppermint essential oil or in a pinch some peppermint extract. We set traps and I put peppermint essential oil up there this last time and the peppermint got rid of them. GAAAAAA.&nbsp;</p> <p>Fortunately, it did not chew any chords. We caught it and got it a cage and now she has it as a pet.
