<div>Hey all! I ended up taking <b>Angie</b>'s suggestions, cross-checking them against your suggestions, and then cross-checking those against my desire for a dressy and casual pant. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>I ended up purchasing the items in finds. <br /></div><div>Really excited! <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>PS: I like this crowd-sourcing business for purchasing. It makes me waaaaay more decisive. Had I tried to do this on my own, I probably would still be sitting here in July contemplating my jean options! So....Thank you!</div></p>

<p>I even bike in white jeans! But only in fair weather. :)&nbsp;</p>
<p>I wear wide leg crops on my bike (which has a fender and chain guard). No problem. But velcro straps also work! I haven't worn palazzo pants, and probably wouldn't. Skirts work fine, though.&nbsp;</p>
<p>So exciting that you will have a bike!&nbsp;</p>

<p>I love the look of the Tedies! Full-length wide leg denim is high on my wishlist right now. </p>
<p>I’m curious about G Star sizing; from the numbers on their size chart it looks like they run very slim in the hips. Do curvy folks typically have these altered to fit?</p>
<p>Re: biking, I commuted in street clothes for years, either rolled up my pant leg or used a Velcro strap, never a problem. DH likes to tuck into his sock, but you need some chunky socks for that.

<p>I would go with the jeans that fit best! And remember, you can always put some rubber bands around your pant legs in a pinch (or roll them up), or get some of those velcro ankle straps. I'm a cyclist, too, and normally wear everyday clothes to bike the short trip to my office (well, I used to do that when I went to my office!). My one exception is that I never bike in white jeans. I learned that lesson the hard way.

<p>I own the arc 3D low waist boyfriend style. On me they seem more like a regular mid-waist straight leg style, but I did size down considerably... For context, I have a swayed back, slightly broader hips and a round bum. Usually jeans have a gap in the back on me or they are too tight in the seat.<br />
All those styles look good for you imo, some more classic others more trendy. Can you do a store visit?<br />
And I don't think a cotton trench is impracticle on a bike, as long as there's a slit in the bottom and it's not far below knee-length... just not waterproof I guess.

<p>I’m excited about the bike! I’m a responsible transport supporter from way back, hung out with the folks organizing our area’s ADFC demonstrations in the early 90s. I’m not sure where you are, if that organization means anything to you. If it does, then you probably know all about rolling up pants legs, clips and straps to go around them, tying knots in full skirts to keep them out of spokes, etc. They don’t have to be your fashion faves anymore than you need to love the look of a seatbelt to ride in a car; you take it off when you get to where you are going. If not, well, chain guards are great and there are also other ways to keep from getting clothes entangled in bike parts. </p>
<p>Anyway, ride on! And post some photos when it’s there. Maybe Angie will revive the cycling style section <a href="https://youlookfab.com/category/occasion/cycling-style/" rel="nofollow">https://youlookfab.com/categor.....ing-style/</a>

Maybe wear one on the other side, too, just to be symmetric. (That's what I do, if I've got wider pants legs and I'm nervous about them.) I'm so excited for your new opportunity to commute around town on your bike!</div><div>I'm eager to hear how the G-Star pants work out for you. I'm attracted to them as well, though I don't really need any at the moment.</div><div>I like the anorak!&nbsp; Two things I really like in a street-wear (not gear) jacket for bicyling: a stowable hood (to keep from having it catch the wind if I'm not wearing it up under my helmet) and a two-way zipper (to adjust so that I can pedal comfortably). This one has the stowable hood, but I don't think it has the two-way zipper. That said, it looks like the zipper doesn't start till farther up the leg anyway, so mobility may not be an issue. I also like to wear my leather moto jacket to bicycle, if there's no chance of rain. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div></p>

<p>Shevia - I missed the c-staqs!<br />
Not at the computer but if anybody wants to see them: <a href="https://www.g-star.com/en_us/shop/women/jeans/d17870-b253-c471" rel="nofollow">https://www.g-star.com/en_us/s.....-b253-c471</a></p>
<p>I really like them. The big back pockets look really cool!! They seem a bit low-slung and ‘hip’ They are contenders.</p>
<p>Bj1111— yes, I am wondering about how those pants would work...as you say, they might not. I’m remembering my dad now, on his bike in his grey wool pants, and he would always use pant clips, despite having a chain guard. So, ya...maybe wide legs won’t work.

<p>Ok, I did a little G-Star reconnaissance myself, and would like to mention the c-staq boyfriend (someone please add find, I can't on my chromebook) as another option, which came home with me. It has been a long time since I bought something that I tried on and that can be returned, so I will be posting more about this soon.&nbsp;<br />Anyway, I am hooked. I love the Kate boyfriend for biking because the legs won't get caught in the chains. I plan to wait for the sales and snag the Kate in faded grey. But if you are up for a high waist I love the look of the Dad jeans above. They have a lot of amazing styles. I am hooked.

<div>Hey - I became quite excited reading about <b><a rel="nofollow" href="https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/quick-try-on-of-altered-g-star-white-jeans">Angie</a></b><a rel="nofollow" href="https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/quick-try-on-of-altered-g-star-white-jeans">'s&nbsp; new g-star jeans</a>. I'd thought I should try some, as an experiment. Could you help me decide on what to get? I guess what I'm looking for is <b>pants</b> that are:</div><div><br /></div><div></div><div>- roomy in the seat and leg<br /></div><div>- one dressy<br /></div><div>- one casual<br /></div><div>- not overwhelming, which I think some of them might be! <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>I also need a <b>raincoat</b>. It doesn't need to be from g-star, obviously, but I did see the beige anorak below (see finds). It looks suitably casual, but is 100% cotton. Maybe that's ok. I do like the idea of cotton because it's more breathable but maybe it's not practical on a bike...Oh, and...<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>...I ordered a new <b>bicycle.</b> It's<b> </b>coming soon, and has a chain guard and fenders. I'll be cycling to the grocery store, pharmacy, SO's house -- everywhere -- from April to October. Distances are short -- within 1.5 miles -- and totally residential. To me this means I can wear regular clothing, but it needs to hide dirt and be practical. <br /></div>
