Long cardigan with no pockets (not waterfall or cascade style) in wool. I finally found one after a lot of searching but it seems to have gotten lost in shipping. It was shipped on September 4th but hasn't arrive yet.

Dress slacks! For some odd reason, they never fit me w/o alteration. If they fit in the hips, they're too tight in the waist, and if they fit in the waist, they're too big in the hips. Or I'll finally find a pair that appears to fit from the front view, only to turn around and find the rear view sags down in the middle and up on the sides and needs a swayback alteration. Or they're a tad short with no room in the hem to make them longer. I love to sew but hate to do alterations. Argh! It's so frustrating I usually give up and just buy/wear skirts.

I have been looking for a warm-colored tweed skater skirt, but all I can find is tweed straight-cut minis or nontweed skaters. No one seems to want to combine the two, at least not in the colors I want.

I did manage to find my navy v-neck sweater (which I thought I would never find) at Nordie's the other day (online). It's backordered, though, so I won't get it for a couple of weeks.

I am also continuing my HEWI hunt from last year for a fit-and-flare charcoal wool sweater dress.

Jeans - I'm always on the lookout. Right now I want something slim fitting but not skinny in a dark wash that isn't a solid navy blue.

Black ponte pants - I need a replacement pair of black stretch pants to tuck into boots. More substantial than leggings so they feel like pants. It is tough to find the right weight that is skinny enough at the ankle. It looks like Torrid might have something but I need to make it over to the store.

Flannel shirt - I want a red plaid that is thin, soft and drapey--basically a vintage feel. The fabric might be hard to find in my size.

1) The right cognac bootie.

2) The perfect fitting pair of black ankle pants in the perfect slightly stretchy fabric. I wore some ankle pants when I was in Settle last Friday night, but to be honest they aren't the best fitting or most comfy. If I could source the right fabric, I'll make some.

I can't think of anything else at the moment.

1) The right pair of ponte knit slim pants to wear with ankle boots...to go down in the boot, not cropped above it. Not skinny, but not too full to tuck in the boots.

2) A moss green sweater of some kind.

3) Just the right leopard print scarf...or giraffe, what a great idea! But no yellow...more black, grey and ivory, small touch of brown.

4) An all purpose, not too dressy, dress.

I just found a pair of full-length dove grey jeans which have been on my list since last year. I've also got a pair of black tall boots on order - fingers crossed that they can replace my current pair which are very long in the tooth.

This isn't f/w exactly, but my flat black sandals need to be replaced and I'd love to find an out-of-season bargain. I also need a pair of red or fuchsia pointy or almond toed flats.

I'm holding off on proper sweaters and such until later in the season, since it's still so warm here - I keep seeing longer cardigans and sweater coats in magazines and in the stores and I'd love to pick up one of them.

Ladies, what are your f/w HEWIs?

1. "My" animal prints--- I don't wear leopard, tiger, zebra, etc. and only wear snake if it is a subtle texture (I don't mind it but the SO has a visceral reaction to seeing scales after growing up in the home of the rattlesnake). I do very much want some giraffe print (very special to me) or something with a subtle dapple or brindle.

2. Southwestern print scarf -- something that looks more authentic than kitschy.

3. Orange-- I'm thinking a scarf, but something deep rich, reddish but not overwhelmingly saturated or bright.
