I don't track wears - maybe I should - but I can't quite face the discipline of it. I know you've all seen most of these pieces before, as I was buying them, but I wanted to have them all in one place for future reference. Bijou and StyleFan- The WFH uniform has been great, and find when I put it on, it works as a mental signal that I'm heading into a work day, which makes me more productive. I'm a little sad that I decided too late to duplicate the top, because it also works as a fab nightshirt, and I'd love to have a couple more for that purpose. smittie - I didn't get the printed trousers. Mine are plain burgundy, I just couldn't get the Find to show the correct color. El Cee - I think you must know when you find a shopping plan that really works for you, because the 5-piece has really been both a joy and a relief for me. It's not a struggle to stick with it at all! La Pedestrienne - Oh my gosh, I LOVE those Linge slippers. I think I might add a pair of those as well. What color did you get? Kiwigal - I'll be honest. I don't find the fur vest and poncho particularly easy to wear. They're definitely not "throw them on anytime" pieces. My wardrobe app says that I've worn the vest seven times and the poncho ten times, though, which is more than I expected. It also might even be a little low, as I was bad at tracking in November and December. I consider both items to be special items with some closet longevity, so I'm okay with that amount of wear. Suz - I've been thinking a lot about this "what is a basic/essential?" question, and I think I've come up with a definition that works for me. First of all, remember that my rule is that anything over $100 has to be part of the five. I might raise this limit a little for winter next year, as winter clothing and shoes are more expensive, but I probably still wouldn't go over $150ish. Second, I've decided that a basic/essential has to be an item that I expect to fall under $1/wear within a year or two. Will I wear that $50 blouse once a week for the next year? If so, it's definitely a basic. Your CPW for essentials might not be the same as mine, but it might be a useful way to think about how you'd classify a given purchase. shedev - Yes! For me, it feels less like a restriction and more like permission to make better purchases. Joy - I don't count gear, and I'd think those snowshoe boots would definitely fall into that category! shevia - Thank you! I think I'm getting better at choosing wisely. This is a terrific system, one that I am going to consider going forward. I guess the tricky part is identifying what is an "essential" (or in your term basic) and what goes into the 5 piece. I'd be at risk of labeling everything an "essential" if I were not careful. Free People floral tunic 2. Garnet Hill cashmere wrap sweater 3. Orvis faux fur vest 4. Black Rivet leather jacket 5. Fisher Project (EF) wool poncho I'm happy with the quality of everything I bought, and I think the 5-piece encouraged me to invest in better fabrics and more luxurious items than I might have otherwise. Of the five, the cashmere wrap sweater has been my most-worn item, hands down.  I did intend to buy a pair of non-black booties as part of my five this season, but I didn't fall in love with anything, so I decided to wait it out. I also added some basics, and I'm not planning on a shopping fast so there may be a few more basics still to come (although they'll probably be gear and loungewear items). Generally, though, I feel satisfied with what I have.  The basics: 1. Mary Jane slippers (loungewear) 2. black ponte pants (work-at-home "uniform") 3. black button-down (work-at-home "uniform") 4. black wool pullover 5. burgundy cropped trousers
