It could have been much worse but at least it was a slight dislocation. It still hurts when I move the shoulder in certain directions. I don't think I can get on a bike anyway because of the pressure on my shoulder. I'm more upset that I can't exercise or run because of the jostling of my shoulder. I would be livid, even if it doesn't help the situation. </p> <p>It's been over six months, and I still haven't been back on my bike. (Mostly because I still haven't brought the bike in to get it checked out, but I suppose there will be a bit of psychological residue I'll need to overcome.) Take your time with this. Your body is in big shock. My shoulder still hurts and it's hard to change out of clothes so I haven't been doing much the past few days. </p> <p>Dh took bike to the shop yesterday and the back rear tire was bent and rear derailleur needs to be replaced. At this point, I've ridden my commuter bike to death (no pun intended) so it may be time to replace it with a new one. </p> <p>I'm still not sure how I feel about getting back on the bike. Yikes. I'm really glad that you weren't more seriously hurt, although believe me, I know that even the injuries you sustained are a real bummer, PLUS the emotional trauma is a major deal. I was hit two years ago now, and ended up with very similar injuries. Although my shoulder wasn't dislocated, it was very bunged up and I had major scrapes and bruises on one side (someone made a left turn into me, and I ended up on the top of her car). All this is to say that I know how scared and adrenaline-pumped and shocky you probably felt and still feel. It will probably take you awhile to be able to get back on your bike, but you can do it! I hate it when responsible bicyclists, who have a right to be on the road and are following the rules, get hurt by careless drivers. I live in what's supposedly a bike friendly city and I still see an awful lot of drivers who don't pay attention or are even downright aggressive around street bikers. (I've also seen a lot of bikers do really stupid things on the road too, to be fair.) I tried biking to work a few times but just got too scared on the streets.<br /> Anyway, I am so sorry that you were the victim of a callous driver, and I hope you heal quickly.
