It does measure approx 16" from shoulder to shoulder. From sideseam to sideseam across the back, measured from right under the arm,&nbsp;the chest measures 18" across.&nbsp;The waistband across the back, from sideseam to sideseam, measures approx 15.25" and the hip (appox 6" below the waistband) measures 19" across from sideseam to sideseam in the back. However, even though I said this is a faux-wrap dress, I guess that's really not accurate. It does truly wrap, but the skirt portion is closed from the hip down, which is nice because it prevents wind-induced wardrobe malfunctions! So, what I'm trying to say is that there is extra fabric in this dress that will accommodate a range of size. I'd say if you generally wear a 6 or 8, this should work. The top part wraps but the skirt is stitched closed so you avoid the windy-day problems of a wrap dress. 3/4 sleeve. Somehow the fit is not quite right on me, so I've only worn it once and am passing it along. It's a little wrinkled in the pic but just needs a little steaming. Rayon/spandex, machine washable. $25 + postage </p>
