My Fryes slip a bit at the heel - I think it adds to the cowgirl swagger. In fact, I wear mine barefoot in summer. It's kind of like walking in mules, you just might need to get used to it if the fit is otherwise right.

My initial instinct was to think that the heel slippage wasn't a big deal either, as these are shoes that can't fall off and will be worn with socks. Glad to hear it's not just me. I'll look into insoles...

Insoles: go to the cobblers, they usually carry more choices than the local pharmacy. Think winter: you'll probably want insulated insoles too.
BTW they look gorgeous. I wouldn't size down.

All my boots slip on the heel and I love a bit of room for an insole in winter. These look smashing!
ETA: I forgot to say that I actually enjoy the heel slippage.

My heels slip in all my boots also. I think that's just fine.

These look great on you! If the fit is ok elsewhere and they are comfortable to walk in, I vote keep!

Great boots, love the color and the heel height. I have yet to own a pair of Frye's so I can't comment on fit but I could definitely see myself in these.

Almost all my boots are right in foot length but slip at the heel - especially cowboy-type boots. I actually love it when that happens.

Hmmm...I have a few pairs of boots, including a pair of Fryes, and they do slip a bit in my heel. I've gotten used to it; I think it's just how they are. So I guess you have to figure out if the slipping is too much (rubbing, causing blisters, uncomfortable) or manageable :). They look really cute.

Hello everyone, thanks for the suggestion about foam insoles. I've never yet bought any, any recommendations on brand?

I looked around for 5.5s but only Endless has them for *double* the price I paid for these, so I'd rather not pay that much...

They are adorable on you. Stick an insert in there and see how you do. I tried those and they totally didn't work for me. I really liked the slightly pointed toe, I think it makes them look more elegant.

Aw, they look great, but if you can't fix the fit issue I vote keep looking... for another pair of those. Frye is a popular brand sold in a lot of places, so I think you should be able to find a size down somewhere.

I love how they look, but the slipping heel would bother me. Try a full length insole, and if that doesn't work.....sorry to say this....I would return and keep looking. They look fabulous on you!

They look gorgeous. I love the color! Have you checked around the other websites to see if they have your size? (endless, 6pm, etc?) I like to wear a thin wool (smartwool) sock in my boots, so I don't like them too tight, but I live in Minnesota.

This is a great color - you can wear those boots to death in fall and spring.
My understanding about Fryes is that your feet should slide in them, a little. They are not meant to be totally snug like other boots.
Now, if your heel is slipping, that's different.

I really think they are gorgeous, but make sure they will work for you. I get so frustrated with shoes that are uncomfortable or don't fit right by the end of the day I want to chuck them in the trash bin. That would be a crime with Frye's.

Ooo these are gorgeous. Definately try an insole. I always buy my boots half a size too big and add an insole, allows for thicker socks in the cold weather too x

They do look good on you. I like the color alot. I have tried these boots in black and didn't like them but this color is very nice. I think trying one of those cheap foam insoles to see if it takes up the slack is a great idea. With me those take up about a size in a shoe. You may need just a thicker sock. I find Frye boots to be all over the place in the sizing.

Love the boot and they look great on you.
BUT if the fit isn't right then you may need to return them.
Try a full length foam insole because these are easier to use in a boot rather than a heel insert.

I got my Frye Cindys a few days ago and got the chance to really try them on today. I really love the color and the slouch (unlike an earlier pair of boots I tried, these have the right circumference around my foot, even for a slouch boot there can be too much gaping, I think). I'm somewhat neutral on the toe--I would have preferred an almond toe, but this should be fine too. The one thing is that the boots are just slightly too big, at least with only one pair of socks...I can feel that they're too loose in the heel. I don't know if a heel insert would work for this, and it might be very hard to get in. But they're not too difficult to walk around in, but I probably should test this more. Zappos doesn't have a smaller size.
