I sent both pairs back, but they were identically buttery, not pebble-y. Definitely a medium brown/saddle/quasi-cognac-y color with golden/warm undertones. Perhaps not as orangey/reddish as cognac. Anywho, I thought that it would work best with my brown skin, dark hair, and dark wardrobe...almost like a "nude" for me.</p> <p>I noticed that just a few hours after I placed my order, the price on the boots was reduced. I demanded and received a priced adjustment, then the boots arrived the next day. I sent both back via UPS the same day that I received them due to the fit issue. I think that I need to get an 8.5, or do the 9's with an insert/thick sock, or move on. Now I see that the price is back up again to where it was when I originally pulled the trigger...WTH??? </p> <p>I don't have pics. I was trying to get those jokers back to UPS asap! The same ones you linked to, I think. The leather is somewhat glazed and not buttery. However, it is pliable enough that I think it will soften up with wear/breaking in.</p> <p>I am not a fan of too soft leather for shoes or boots (coats and gloves are okay if buttery soft), but that's just me worrying about longevity.</p> <p>Let me know if you have any specific questions.
