I live in the intermountain west and western wear is common, and not just on ranches. It's not worn to the office, but to events such as theater, dinner, etc. And not too much or you will look like a cartoon. I saw your two jackets in another thread and thought they would be appropriate with boots, nice dark jeans, and a non western top.
