I had a similar problem with Piperlime booties and I called Customer Service and they were quite rude. I was very polite, honestly! I thought the heck with it and mailed them back anyway and got full credit for them, along with a snippy note...just like you, it was only a day or two beyond the deadline....good luck!

These policies are often guidelines meant to keep people from abusing the system. I'm sure if you ask sweetly, they will be happy to accomodate you. I've been able to return some items slightly worn because I was brutally honest and told them my story. I'm always surprised how helpful customer service can be when you are kind to them. Good luck!

I had an issue similar to this with Speigel once. First, my item took *forever* to arrive. When I sent it back, that also took a long time. I missed the return date by a few days, so I just called and asked if they would extend me a few days as a courtesy. The rep on the phone said yes, they processed my return and made me a happy camper.

In short, most companies want your business again, and are willing to bend rules if it means you'll come back.

definitely call and explain. As Una said, they want happy customers. I can't imagine they will squabble over a few days.
I can understand why they give the return window from the date mailed... I'm pretty sure that is everyone's policy. I'm always careful to note the end of the return window when I receive an order.

Most reputable places will accept returns for unused merchandise even if "slightly" outside their deadline dates. You might only get a merchandise credit, but if they are truly not shoes you want then it's better than keeping unusable items. I would contact them, explain the too short timeframe and request an RA (return authorization) noting the name of the person you speak with.

Do you like the boots? I try to not borrow trouble that may not exist since I have enough without what ifs. The only way it will be an issue is if you don't want the boots and would like to return them. Have you worn them around the house while you've had them? Are they comfortable? Do they work with the outfits you planned to wear them with?

If so, then no need to stress over the return policy. If you don't want them, you should contact customer service asap. The longer the delay, the less likely they will be to accommodate your request.

I guess I should have added to my comment that I would consider disputing if the company was unwilling to refund considering the insufficient time to accomplish the return.

I would check with them first. They don't want an unhappy customer. I had the same issue with Duo and they were totally accommodating of me.

I agree I think it's definitely worth contacting the company to explain your situation. If you have to sign for the parcel on delivery you could easily prove to the company how unworkable their returns policy is for you. Given your location they might even extend the return period for future purchases as a good will gesture to you.

Did you use a VISA card? I would consider disputing the charge if there was not a resonable time period for you to make your exchange.

I ordered a pair of Miz Mooz from Infinity that I couldn't get anywhere else. Today I was heading to the post office to make some returns and thought I should check the deadlines on said shoes, since they arrived in October and I read that the return policy was 30 days.

Come to find out, the fine print says that the shoes must be returned within 30 days of the date Infinity MAILED them to me. They mailed them at the very end of September and it took them two weeks for the shoes to get here. They have been sitting in my house for just a day or two over two weeks!

I am still not sure if I want to keep the shoes and was planning on deciding tonight-- but, it is a bit of a moot point if Infinity won't accept my return.

1. I hope to gosh I can figure out a way to make these shoes comfortable.

2. I feel like I am being penalized for living somewhere with poor post and a long way to go for shopping.

3. This makes me reluctant to buy from them again.

I am also having a similar problem with another company based in new york-- they have a 15 day return policy (which is a little insane) and I have missed that date as well, much for the same reasons (I barely got my merch within the return policy dates).

GRRRRR!!!!!
