I don't think those are frumpy. I have to say that some of what unfrumped said resonated with me. Bought denim blue colored leather oxfords last year and find I almost never wear them with blue denim. I guess I prefer the slight contrast of my mid-gray oxfords with denim. I do like them with white, gray and cream pants better. YMMV. I don't get nearly as much wear out of them as I thought I would. Mine are not quite as dark as the AGLs. Meaning, the denim fabrication-- I saw these and wondered what is the best target outfit-- would not wear with BLUE jeans or dress pants but could see with white jeans and summer skirts. Now I need to rethink my spring and summer shoes since I am no longer able to wear my beloved ballet flats. The boots and booties I have been wearing will have to wait until it gets cool again in the fall. I have a few pair of loafers and a few wedges but once it warms up I will need other options.
