Maya, can't wait to see the fringe pics but I just wanted to say that I don't think a blunt fringe will make you look young. It's sometimes the case when hair is longer (as yours seems to be in that old pic?), but yours is much shorter and sharper now. I think it will look really chic, actually. You can easily grow out the edges of them (where they meet the length of your hair) gradually, if you want them to take up less head real estate, right?

Maya I was having the same problem with my side swept bangs not wanting to stay put- that's why I went for a blubnt cut bang. I love it, and feel it's much easier to deal with.

That is kind of what I wanted Jean...something that could maybe be worn both ways. I didn't now if that was possible or easy to do though. My feeling is that my bangs will naturally want to hang straight.

I'll post a picture of my current bangs tomorrow. This is sort of how they look (though I do not look like a doll like Ayumi...):

http://www.imageandstylenews.c.....-bangs.jpg

They're cute in theory but they just do not stay put.

I like the straight across look, it is very dramatic. Maybe you could post a picture of what the bangs look like now. It seems as if the straight bang might give you the option of wearing straight or swept to the side. You have great hair for bangs and your eyes are gorgeous!!

I have had a side-swept fringe for a long time now and I am getting a bit tired of it. I can't seem to keep it in place. I think the problem is that my stylist has been gradually adding hair to it over the past few months. I am not sure what to do now. I look awful without bangs so I don't want to grow them out, but I don't want to leave them this way either. I finally got so frustrated with them I took my scissors and whacked them shorter. It looks okay but I still would like to have less hair being used for my fringe than I have now. It's not that the fringe is too thick, but that it starts too far over on the side. Does that make sense? If I part it where I want to, I get these little stray fringe hairs on the other side and it doesn't look so nice.

I didn't do the greatest job cutting them so I have to do something. The way I see it I can either go through the torture of growing them out or cut them straight across. This is what they looked like last time I had them (I was 19 and yes I had a lip piercing--don't look if it squicks you out):

http://img.photobucket.com/alb.....e4real.jpg

Aside from the fact that I fear they will make me look too young, I also felt they put too much emphasis on my nose, which as you can see isn't exactly dainty.

I know this picture has very little to do with what I look like right now...but...the features are all the same...

Any ideas/thoughts?
