Thank you for the input Ginabee. It sounds like they might not be the best for me since I have a wide foot, but who knows. I still plan to try them. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

I have several pairs of the London Sole Harriet’s. These give you the most toe cleavage of all their ballet flats. They also have no rights or lefts. They are like desserts for my feet, very comfy, and I get tons of lookers!
The lowcut are OK, less cleavage but still the same fit. I have one pair in black patent. The patent did not stretch out much and molded perfectly
If you are not looking to expose any cleavage, go with the London Sole Simple, I have them in the basics Red, Black, and Silver. Similar flats to these that I own are the French Sole Pearl, Bloch Pearl and my everlasting Repettos Point-toe flats.
If you are a freak as I am over ballerina flats, try Freed of London they do make street flats. They do mail order; and have a terrific black leather pair.

btw...I do have a narrow foot and experience no issue with sagging from the London Sole flats that have no left or rights. Happy Flats! - G

Maya, I would love it if you could report back to us on the FS shoes the next time you are in Manhattan! I think it'll be a while before I get back to the city. I'm especially curious if they'll work for us narrow-footed gals. Sounds like they run pretty narrow from the feedback.

Hm, I see what you mean by toe cleavage. I'm not a fan either, but as they say -- "If the shoe fits..." :)

That's a neat detail about the bow being functional--I wish more shoes were adjustable in that way!

Oh, I also forgot to mention: the little bow on the shoes is actually a functional drawstring bow, like real ballet shoes. It can be tightened or loosened. I might have to try these long before I am able to buy a pair. They sound very interesting.

Yep, those Cathy! I'm not sure if they're going to be right for me since I am not a big fan of excessive toe cleavage, but if they are comfy it's hard to say no.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_6OW2.....riends.JPG

The black ones in that picture are low cut.
http://www.bunnyhug.co.uk/fash.....sole_3.jpg

That is what they look like from the top.

I won't be getting them any time soon but they are on my list of shoes to try at some point. There is a FS store in Manhattan which I plan to check out. Their sizing is so wacky that I would just rather try them on in person.

Are you talking about this pair, Maya?

These shoes are very intriguing! If you do get a pair, I'd love to hear how they work out.

I have never seen them in person so I didn't realize they ran so narrow. I don't think all their styles seem narrow though. They have many different cuts and lasts. The square toe flats specifically are noted as being good for broad feet.

I wear Superfeet insoles in all my flats now, so cushioning is less important...and even less desirable in a way because a flatter sole leaves more room for the insole.

Anyway, the sizing is interesting. They have 2 size charts: one for broad feet and one for narrow feet. Each style has its own size chart, and most are quite different from what you might be used to. For example, I clicked on the broad foot sizing chart, and was told that I should wear a Euro 39 in the low cut style, which is 2 sizes up from my usual size. The only real difference between the broad and narrow size charts is that the broad size chart shows everything a size or two larger. I'm not sure how that would affect the length though. All of the styles are meant to fit snugly initially, but eventually mold to your foot.

I think the idea of having no left or right foot is genius. I wear Indian khussa shoes around the house and they are just like that. Initially they are very snug and awkward, but soon they take on the shape of your foot, which is so much better than having a predetermined shape that doesn't have anything to do with your individual feet.

I've only seen them on-line and they definitely are cute, but I echo Ele's sentiments: they look quite narrow and that might be a problem...

Maya, I've also read about those shoes that mold to the foot- it seems a bit weird to me, though. I don't have experience with French or London Sole but I love picking them up when I'm shopping- they have some lovely styles.

Are your feet narrow, wide or just normal-width? From what I recall, FS and LS are VERY narrow. I've never even tried a pair on, because I can tell from looking at them that they're far too narrow for me. Also, I like a more cushioned/shaped foot bed, but these are very flat- not enough support for me, but they could work for you.

Was wondering if anyone has had experience with French Sole or London Sole ballet flats. I think they are absolutely beautiful and would eventually love to get a pair of nice dress flats and they seem to fit the bill. But are they comfortable?

I remember reading about a FS style that has no left or right feet (both shoes are the same) that eventually just conform to your feet as you wear them. That sounds dreamy. But I can't remember what it is called.
